Well, this whole week my tires have been progressively turning more and more blue. Yes, blue. I didn't find any answers on TW searching its search or using Google; but, I did find answers on other forums. I figured I would share the results on here for others that may look here first (like me).

Turns out mud has been known to turn tires blue. Has something to do with the metals in the mud. Two weekends ago I was out at General Sams Offroad Park in Huntsville Texas which is nothing but mud and that may give some credence to what I have read. The tires turning blue didn't start until this Sunday though (a week after being out in the mud). I have never seen this after having multiple trucks and multiple sets of tires on those trucks through mud. Though that was in Central and West Texas. This past trip was my first adventure in East Texas. I have read that with enough cleaning the blue does come off or with enough time it will wear off.

If anyone has a different theory or some specifics on how to treat this blue tire condition, please share. Not sure blueing tires are exactly appropriate for a "professional" job.

Side story: since I have a BBP truck my initial ignorance had me afraid my paint was some how running. 20180213_125952.jpg 20180213_125959.jpg

Its from minerals in the mud. Clean them well .

Are they holding air? Sometimes turning blue happens when air is held. They need to breath.

    At least with humans

Wow, that’s pretty weird. OP, I find it really Awesome that you come out and said that you thought your paint was running, and turning your tires blue. Thats funny as fuck! I’d probably be freaking out too though, at least you know the answer now.
