I’m on a budget and want to get some at tires, as my defenders have gotten very low. They are 245/75r16 size with 111T speed and load rating. I found Firestone destination IMG_4982.jpg A/T tires for 120$ a peice on sale from 210$ online but they are 245/70r16 size, from my understanding that would be an ok size to use being slightly smaller but not noticeably smaller. But the load/speed rating is 109s I think it should be fine. What do you guys think of these tires and the sizing/rating of them?

That used to be the standard tire put on all Ford Rangers and Explorers until the mid 90's when they started rolling over due to "under inflated tires." Which turned out to be a Ford suspension issue or something. Great tires. I've put a LOT of miles on those. Are they the best? No. But for the money? Good deal.

What is your current tire size? Plug those numbers in here to see how much of a difference there is?

Decent tires. Mine got loud after 15k miles. I had two sets on my F150 before going to Michelins.

Have 3 sets of Firestone tires over the years. Never liked any of them. Odd wear patterns and vibrations galore. Had one belt separation before 30k.

My budget go-to brands are Nokien, Kumho and General. All wear & perform well. The Nokien's hands down are my fav....they wear like iron.

Meso spare fuse holder. Aluminum gas cap holder. Genuine Toyota bed lights. Bed molle racks. Ammo case storage under hood. In-bed spare tire. Automatic underhood lights. Gooey glurp on frame.
I'm still seething over the fatal Firestone defects from the 500s, the 721s and the Wilderness ATs. I would rather run Bandag retreaded Michelin or Pirelli tires. Even secondhand.

I put several sets on my old 4Runnner. Cheap and effective in my experience. 40k were pretty used up. Put the white letters out. You will like them more.

Yeah I’m still surprised they made it through that debacle. I thought that would be the end of the brand for sure.

Make sure you have them road forced balanced when you put them on. I bought a set, at the dealer where I retired from, the tech, was a good tech, but old school; he rebalanced them5 times, no road force.Unforchatly,he passed before I came back in again. The young boy that road forced them, said didn't know how I could stay in the truck the force was so high. So,story short, I bought another set, these are good. So,from now on, any of my new tires, will be road forced before they ever hit the ground.
