i bought a new 2015 Tacoma. The dealership had already put a 3" lift on it and big tires and nice rims.
I've always noticed that when I take a sharp turn the tires seem to rub... I looked at it a little closer the other day and noticed the upper control arm is very close to the wheel. Where the tire rubs, the black coating has rubbed off the uca... I took it back to the dealership and after an hour and a half they said the wheels are a little too big... I was like what? No. I paid 40k for this truck and it was sitting on the showroom floor with these wheels and you want me to take smaller ones??? I told him that was unacceptable. He said he was going to have his lift guy look at it this week.
Any idea what they might offer? Or what I should demand?

    Aftermarket upper control arms.

Your caster(alignment) is also too low.

    Wheel spacers possibly.

Is it possible to lift it another inch and a half so it would clear the control arm?

And that's why you don't by the dealer special.... sorry op.
This wouldn't help as lifting the truck might help with VERTICAL clearance but not HORIZONTAL clearance, if that makes sense. At 3"s of lift, you probably need aftermarket UCAs anyways to get your alignment back in spec. And if that doesn't work, you need different wheels with less backspacing or wheel spacers.

Also, how big of a deal is this? I don't like the fact that my tires rub when I turn very sharp and the arm is very close to the wheel but if I have them "fix" this is it possible that more could go wrong?
I just feel like I bought it New from the dealership so I should expect all these things to work perfect!
Thanks in advance for any suggestions/comments!!!

    1. Thinner tires.
    2. Aftermarket UCAs
    3. Spacers.

Take your pick. Those all solve that problem.

Well eventually you'll pop your tires so it's a big deal.

    You need:

-Skinnier tires (what size are yours?) and/or
    -wheel spacers maybe 1.5" and/or
-new wheels with the proper BS to move the tires farther away from the uca

I am curious to how this panned out. What was the solution? I have a similar problem and need some advice.

I have a set of four Bora 0.75" spacers for sale, they would make the tires poke out 3/4" more, but are about the thinnest you can get for wheel spacers that are high quality. No matter what though, if you buy spacers get either Spidertrax or Bora. I don't trust a lot of the other cheaper ones.

How much do you want for the spacers shipped to 33704?

I'm not sure how much shipping cost will be, but I'd like $125 plus shipping for the spacers. I paid $200 for them new and they have just under 3k miles on them.

I'd make them switch the wheels to ones with a little less backspacing. They could move the tires to the new wheels.
Post some pics and we can help more.
