    Hey, y'all.
So I went to add air to my tires and 3 out of 4 went fine. The last tire just wouldn't fill. You could hear that there was no air flowing. I tried another air chuck just in case the first one was acting up, but that wasn't it. Do I need a new valve stem? This is for a 2009 TRD Sport Tacoma. Thanks.

Just change the valve core. You can buy one, and the removal/installation tool, at any auto parts store.

Check and see if the little stem in the valve core is bent over to the side. If it’s not, poke the stem with a key and see if air comes out.

On the left is the tool, on the right are the cores. They are actually for our A/C system high/low ports, but the ones for your tires will look very similar.

I should have mentioned in my post that I depressed that stem and air will flow out of the tire. That's why I'm confused about why it won't flow into the tire. Thanks.

Push on the chuck harder... i have seen deep valvestems have a hard time pushing the chuck center hard enough to actually allow airflow.

If you have metal valve caps, the cap gasket may have stuck on the inside of the valve stem and it won't let the core depress. It happened to me the other day, got a pick and removed it and put a new cap on.

If it's not the valve core, have you or someone Slimed the tire as a quick fix-a-flat job? Reason being, the slime might have dried in the stem which is preventing air from going into the tire. Unfortunately, the only fix for this is to get another tire. That stuff is messy and ruins tires.

You might not need to replace, just back the cores out a bit. What I do is back the cores out until air starts to evacuate, then give it at least 2 complete turns back to the right. As long as the stem is flush or slightly below the top of the nipple, you should be good to go.

The cores are cheap enough as they are, so since you already have the parts on hand, might as well.

Just be aware when you unscrew the existing they can shoot out a couple of feet if not manually restrained.

OP, are you sure the pressure in your air compressor is greater than the pressure in your tires? Easy mistake to overlook.

Oh it is until it's dark out and your ankle deep in mud without a flashlight. :bananadance:
All kidding aside those little valves are one of the most overlooked, and cheapest spare piece of kit to have in your 'oh chit kit'.
