First post, hello all. Have a 2018 Tacoma. Wondering what the biggest tire size you can put on these trucks without spacers, lifts etc? I do a ton of backwoods hobbies and the extra clearance along with an aggressive tire would do me wonders. Any max tire size and the tire brand/model suggestions would be appreciated!!

I would recommend 255/80/17, it’s a 33”x10”. Might have to remove front mudflaps, every truck is a bit different.

On a Sport, you can upsize to a (approx) 32" 265/70/17 tire without rubbing/cutting. Or like Serge mentioned a 33" skinny 255/80/17 pizza cutter

Duratracs are the most aggressive A/T tire, followed by the Wilpeaks which are a little more mannered road tire.

Of course there is the tried and true KO2's, but seem to fall short on ice & snow.

2016 TRD Sport, long bed. I am considering putting Bridgestone Dueler's H/T 255/70 R17 tires on. My first choice is the Firestone Destination LE3 265/70/17, but I can get the Dueler's for about $300 less on Marketplace. Any opinions?

You may have mudflap issues, I did on my 18 Sport (no lift) changing from 265/65/17 to 70/17’s (Toyo Open Country ATIII). I was able to resolve it with a heat gun and shaving off some of the portion of the front flaps that stick out closest to the tire.

Really nice tires! But, I don't do any off roading. Mostly highway driving.

If you drive in the snow I'd take those Destination LE3s over the Duelers. Those Duelers are terrible in the snow

Nope, my pizza cutters do not touch my mudflaps. Every taco is a bit different though.

Even in this situation, no rubbing on flaps.

Also, lift does not help clear larger tires unless you only drive in straight line and never cycle your suspension.

No mudflaps, so shouldn't rub anywhere? Rock Lobster, thanks for the links, your right about the debates...

Learning here... if I go with Destination LE3's 265/70 R17 instead of the stock 265/65 R17's will the 70's require a lift? or possibly rub?

Lift does not help clear larger tires unless you only drive in straight line and never cycle your suspension.

You will be just fine with 265/70/17s on stock wheels.

If you get rims with -10 or more offset, you will rub on fender liner.
