My 2011 Tacoma needs new tires. Last ones I bought were Generals from WalMart, they held up pretty well for several cross-country trips from Colorado to Arkansas and back, got caught in blizzards on two of those trips and they did fine (although I drove really really slow!).

I don't plan to do that much driving - working from home as much as possible. On my previous vehicle, I ran studded snow tires in winter as my job was in the mountains. I'd get them on in October and take them off in late April once threats of major snow was over. The last 3 or 4 years it barely snowed, so I was running them on bare pavement for the majority of time I had them on, so I think I'll be safe with just all-season tires. Watch, though, I'll do that and it will decide to go all Colorado on me again!

Does anyone have a particular brand they really like for this type of situation?
