    Hello All,

I'm both new to the forum and new to anything "non-stock" on a vehicle! Looking to replace my stock tires and also get new wheels. I'm pretty set on the black 16" beadlock wheels and leaning towards the BFG KO2's as tires.....just not sure on size. I have not made any modifications to any part of this vehicle and looking to know what tire size I can get away with.....I think the 265/70/16 will get me to the same diameter as I have now with the stock 17" wheels and 265/65/17 tires. Not sure if I can go bigger than 265/70/16 without any problems and need for modifications? Thanks for any help anyone is willing to offer!

Well you are talking about 2 different size tires and 2 different size rims, you have a Sport so the biggest you can go is 265/70/17

but on the 16" beadlock style, you can go 265/75/16

Thanks for the reply's guys! So I can go to 265/75/16 without any issues on the Sport? I would guess my speedometer will be off slightly, right? Any other area's of concern? I'm such a novice at this which is why I'm asking....just trying to not get stuck with an unwanted situation before I shell out all of this money!!

Only if you have 16 inch rims as Sports come with 17's

OK, thanks. Yes, I'm planning for the 16" beadlocks. So it will obviously be a tighter fit than the stock I have now....enough to have to take the flaps off?

I had to cut a very small portion of the back of the front fenders to get 265/75R16s to not rub. I used a box cutter and it took about 5 minutes, and there is zero rubbing now. Some people didn't even need to do this (maybe having to do with positive caster), but even if you do it is simple and you can't tell.

Edit: Just saw your follow up, yes mud flaps would have been violently ripped off of my truck if I hadn't removed them.

I don't think you'll need to remove the flaps, but don't quote me on that. In my case however it corrected my speedo. If it is off it really isn't by much. Also depends on what tire you get as they are all nominally 32 but they actually measure differently. You can find that data online at manufacturer sites.

Maybe I should add, my trimming may have had to do with 4.5" backspaced wheels, and DuraTrac tires. That setup pushed everything out quite a bit from stock.

Awesome, thanks so much guys! Will see what I decide....may just play it safe and stick to 265/70/16 but we'll see! Would like a small bit of lift from the tires so that's my reason for considering a bigger size.....
