I want to get a bigger tire on my stock wheels so the tire can fill the wheel well better, not looking to lift the truck. Current tire is the stock 245/75R/16 on a 16x7 wheel (see attached photo). What are you guys running on this wheel? I was initially thinking of getting new tires and wheels all together but decided against it. I really don’t like the stock tire on my 2018 Tacoma SR5, look like baby tires. Ideas?

My truck is running the Stock 17" wheel. The tires are 265/65R17

You may be able to go to a 265/65R16 on your 16" wheels.

A 265/70/16 will be the same height, but about 1" wider and IMO will look a lot better and you'll lose no performance. A 265/75/16 is as big as you can go without modifying the truck. This does effectively alter the axle ratio, speedometer and odometer slightly. Usually not enough to be a real negative but it is there. That is the size I prefer and use. They are a more common size and usually a little cheaper than 265/70/16's too.

WHICH tire you buy can matter too. Even in the same size a brand "A" tire can be a bit larger than a brand "B" tire. The tire sizing system uses the 1st 3 digits to list the tires width at it's widest point in millimeters. That will be the same, but the tread width can vary 1/2" or more and the only way to determine that is to actually look up the manufacturers specs.

265/75/R16 with slight rubbing on sharp incline/decline. Good luck OP!

Thanks for the tips! The rubbing is a big concern and I’d like to avoid that all together. If I go with a 275 tire that doesn’t have big tread on it, like BFGs, would that avoid the rubbing issue?

I drive my truck 5 days a week to work, and have only rubbed a handfull of times. I just take it slow on steep driveways, etc. Its not a problem enough to trim IMO. I think its the perfect size! Im putting on a cbi front bumper and waiting on bilstein 6112/5160 so im stoked to see how it looks!

You'll take a hit on MPG with the KO2s because the size and weight. Best I got was 19/20mph on highway. To and from work, mainly winding back roads, I average anywhere from 15-18 depending on how late im running lol.

You will have no trouble going to the stock size that is on the Off Road...265/70R16. They will look good and cause you no rubbing or gearing concerns at all.
