HiI have an 06 Toyota Tacoma. As I mentioned in my first thread it was my Dad's pride and joy. A few years ago after he passed away, he wanted it to be mine. I'm financially having a difficult time keeping it up but I'm doing all I can. Heck, can't even get brakes and rotors. Anyway, I need two tires BAD! Their almost bald. I hoping I can get two with my stimulus if I have enough left after catching up my power and water bill.
My question is what's the biggest size tire I can put on my 06? Also anyone know online where I can get a good deal?
Another quick question... Has anyone else had air conditioner issues. Mine stopped working when Dad still had it. It quit the summer before he passed away. I tried putting coolant in it but didn't work. Thanks ahead of time for the answers & advice

If you are only replacing two tires you have to put whatever size is on there. You should never run two different size tires on a vehicle, especially one that has 4x4. Also larger tire = more rubber = more money + lower mpg. Aren't you strapped for cash?

Hmmmm......sounds like you need to set a priorities.

    Suggest
First: Take care of the bills. Call the utility company, explain the situation, they have options for payment.
2nd: Get tires. Don't worry about "biggest", get the stock tire size to match your rim and the other 2 tires. These will be less expensive than the "biggest" tire. Hit your local tire shops, they may have some used take-offs in good condition that you could get at a discount.
3rd: Brakes, figure out a DIY path. Its doable. Many times replacing rotors or drums is not required. You need to assess the condition and thickness. If they need turning, it is often less expense to replace. If they don't need replacement, then you only need pads.
4th: The A/C can hold for a few months. Its winter. If you get hot, open a window. Don't attempt servicing the A/C coolant yourself, go to a shop. The stuff is toxic and needs to be recovered.

Everything I've suggested is only temporary to get you some time to financially recover. You will need to do the tires and brakes with a long-term repair. A/C can hold.

Most tire shops have used tires. Find tires that match what you have as far as size goes and get them. This will hold you over until you can afford 4 new ones. Get the EXACT SAME SIZE as you have now. It shouldn't cost more than$50 for a good used tire.

Your life and other peoples lives depend on your tires and brakes. If they are that bad you shouldn’t be driving the truck. You are endangering yourself and other people. You need to use public transportation or something until you can get this resolved. You should be getting a $600 tax free stimulus check, use that for tires and brakes if you can.
Why do you want big (meaning expensive) tires? Never mix tire sizes. That can cause multiple problems. Go to a couple chain tire places and see if they can hook you up with the cheapest set of tires they have. It is way better to replace all 4 but do what you have to do.
Get a brake inspection and then you will know exactly what needs to be done and the cost. As far as the a/c , forget about that for now. Later this year when your financial situation is hopefully better you can look into a/c repair.
I’m sorry for your financial situation. There are currently millions of people in your situation thanks to the corona virus situation. Things should start looking better as the economy starts to open up and more people get vaccinated. Good luck to you.
