haven't been able to find info for a recommended tire pressure on Michelin Defender LTX 245/ 75R16 .
my 99 Tacoma Xtra cab 4x4 came with P225/75R15 with a psi rating of 26 fwd & 29 rear. I have since upsized my wheels.

26 & 29 psi seems low . Costco only fills to what is on the door tag . I get it but it's not accurate.

anyone know if 245/75R16 were standard equipment for any 1st or 2nd generation Tacomas and the factory tire pressure specifications ?

32 to 33 lbs are sufficient. Higher tire pressure equals better gas milage, but tires will suffer. Just as they are probably suffering from to low of pressure. My tpms lights up at about 22 psi.
Yes, the 2nd Gen sr5 came with 16" wheel and the same tire size.

You could also do the caulk method to check just to see if they would wear weirdly
