I've seen threads of people able to fit 265/70/17 on their 2016+ Tacoma TRD Sport, but I wanted to make sure if my research is correct on TW before I make a huge purchase. To be clear, I want to know that 265/70/17 will fit, without rub, on my current 265/65/17 wheels.

Thanks in advance all and happy holidays!

I'm getting ready to do the 265/70r17 on mine. Yes, with everything I've read, you'll be fine. I had 265/75r18s on my 2017 Sport, and needed to lift it a little as the front wasn't too happy about it at all.

I have factory Duratracs on mine that are 265/70/16. I am sure the extra 17 rim would not hurt it .

I have 265/65/17 with the TRD Pro wheels. I have a slight rub when I turn into a drive way or hit a bump while turning.

265/65r17 is stock in sports, and I have 0 rub issues.

You are correct, I'm an idiot and can't type. I meant to say 265/70/17 and have some rub.

I have a "No Flares" SR5 so I had to go with WeatherTech mud guards. My 265/70/17 KO2's rub a little at full lock. I live with it, but am going to 265/65's when it's time for new tires.

Don't recall the number, but know the TRD Pro wheels have a slightly different back spacing than the Sport wheels. Would not expect them to rub, but could be why. Everyone I talked to says 265/70/17 tires will be OK.

Please report back. I'm thinking 265/75's are going to touch something under the truck with stock suspension.

I will let you know. Hoping not, but will figure it out after. My concern is that the Duratracs have a pretty aggressive sidewall and may rub the upper control arm. Hoping not but only way to find out.

Tried to do a little research first but found that to be a little all over the place.

I debated going to 70 on my sport but stuck with 65 as I do more road than off road. I'm taking a chance on the Ohtsu AT4000. At $435 at Simpletire delivered its worth a shot. I'm confident Japanese manufacturing is still high quality so I'm hoping that even at this price point it will be a good tire. I remember this company from back in the 80's when Honda had a close relationship with them as their oem. However I never ordered tires from Simpletire before so I am crossing my finger they are good. I always ordered from Tirerack but I am finding they are $40-60 more expensive than a lot of the competition out there.

I'm still fighting between KM3, X3, or recently got pointed towards Milestar Patagonia MT, which actually don't seem too bad.

Anyone else have experience with 265/75/r16s? I’m thinking about getting some Mickey Thompson atz p3s in that size on stock wheels and suspension.

what tires do you have that it rubs? I have the TRD Pro 17" wheels with 265/70/17 Terra Grapplers, factory mud guards and mine has never rubbed. not once in 13,800 miles. IMG_4301.jpg

read a couple of the recent posts about the Falken tires and you will shy away from them. evidently they have quality control issues and the tires aren't balancing right causing vibrations. me personally I would stick with Nitto or Goodyear. I am partial to Nitto, been running their tires since 2006. I try not to run anything else. when my Terra Grapplers are done I might try the GY Duratrac tires, those are pretty nice from I have been told.

The place people get into issues are with wheels that have -10mm or more offsets. Then 265/70/17 becomes a slight issue. Typically only if the truck has mud flaps.
