Does anyone have experience running tire chains and 265/75R16 tires on a stock height 4x4?

I'm considering up sizing my tires when I buy but curious if chains still clear with no rubbing without a lift.

    Thanks for your input.

Z-chains, I believe mine are the 579's. Go on in 5 minutes and they work great. I use them for log roads during hunting season, some are steep and ice covered coming out. "Real" chains are a pain in the a** to get on.

I ran burly v-bar chains at stock height on that tire size. Ran them hard with no issues...well, I ripped off a mudflap once, but that was because I was winching backwards in deep snow. The snow pushed the mudflap into the tire (and chains), and the flap was removed. In all fairness, the tire probably would have ripped off the flap without the chains.

Here's a pic of the actual event

    I have these.

You'll have to be careful about the exact chains you buy, the heavy duty V-Bar chains probably won't fit and if you're running E rated tires they may not fit. I have P265/75/16's The chains I bought are a smaller 5.5mm chain, they offer a 7mm chain but I don't think it would fit.

If not in extreme conditions or mud cables work surprisingly well on ice or light snow. If over 4-6" then cables are less effective.

Thanks for the feedback and information everyone. Makes the decision to go up a tire size much easier.
