    Is there a way to setup the Member List to also display how much time has been spent logged in? I think it might just depress me if I see that number though.

    Dude, I've abandoned my kids for this place.

    child: "Daddy will you play with me now?"

    me: "Give me a couple minutes"

    Meanwhile, 2 hours later.........

    My wife says the same thing... It even came up at dinner on Thanksgiving Day. Mind you - I do not spend time on here when she is home with me. I would rather play with my wife. :p She is working today, so guess where I am.

    god.... I'd hate to see my number.... I never actually log out. Even if I have to close Flock or reboot, when the tabs re-open I'm magically still logged in... I can't remember the last time I actually had to click the log in button.....

    I think I clicked the login button once back in September. Do the rest of you do it more often?

    I don't know that there'd be any way to do that.

    <technobabble>

    Web pages are stateless. They're not like regular desktop applications. As soon as you get the page in your browser, the web server closes the connection. If it held onto the connection, it would bog down quickly as it sought to keep connections open for everyone that visited the site.

    It only knows who you are when it reads the cookie on your computer the next time you hit a page on Tacomaworld. Any website that knows who you are after you've closed the browser and then revisited the site is using cookies.

    Banks handle page visits with session variables on their servers that expire in 20 minutes or so (so you don't accidently leave your bank account open to whoever has access to your computer). The downside of sessions is you'd have to log in every time you closed your browser or the session expired. So if you used sessions, it could work but it would require you to log in each time you came to the site. It also wouldn't expire if you went to another site so it wouldn't be guaranteed that you were on the site constantly, only that you checked back in before the session expired.

    </technobabble>

    You could have it record page hits. That would show how many times you actively hit the site.
