So I've come into possession of an old school 422xt ladder rack to haul my canoe, but looks like I need mounts for my 2016...there's a lot of traffic about XK1 adaptors, but I'm pretty sure they're only designed for 2nd Gen, don't think they work on 3rd gen...and the XK1s are almost impossible to find and $$$. Before I go down a rabbit hole, does anyone know if there are any adapters that ever existed that would mount an old 422xt Thule rack to a 3rd gen Tacoma? Thanks much for any insight.

Did you ever find a set of clamps? I am actually in need of a set of the original clamps if you found a solution and still had the original clamps. Thanks!

Never found a new set, had to modify the originals to fit the rails... it is doable though. Basically built my own XK1s out of the stock brackets. Not bad for the price of a couple aluminum cutting disks.

Hey Swtjebus, can you take a closeup shot of how you attached to the rail. Looks like you went inside the t-track? I'm faced with the same thing, bought the 422xt system off a guy on CL who said he took them off a tacoma but I've only had my truck for less than a week and didn't reallize there were all different 'generations' lol. anyhow, I thought of cutting off the top clamp of the xk2 adapters and bolting it through the vertical holes in the rail, but I'd love ot see exactly what you did. thanks Kevin in Seattleupload_2023-11-4_15-44-35.png

Yep, that's exactly what I did, I went inside the t-track... You've got a different set of brackets than I had... I had the original ones that I had to cut... in my second photo up above, the left side is after I made the cut, the right side is the bracket uncut. I slid the smaller cut piece into the t-track and then clamped it down with a bolt... fits like a dream (with a little work).

Cool, thanks for the pic and you are right, my bracket is totally not the same. I measured mine, and it's not long enough between the rail's t-slot and the bracket bottom to get a hole drilled that would line up with the trucks rail system. What I need....I'd have to make. My neighbor has a mini mill, I'll ask him if he can do something like this
