My throttle is not working the shop replaced the fuse yesterday. Which fuse do I need to replace?

    Related note:

The shop is recommending replacing the positive cable harness and is quoting 1k to do the job. I am not confident this needs to be done.

oh, and could you explain symptoms and reason given by shop for thinking positive cable harness needs replacing? Incidentally, did they charge you for the mis-diagnosis? AFAIK most if not all Toyota fuses, relays and switches have testing procedures for confirming functionality- frequently involving electrical resistance (?) of the component under various conditions- they're outlined in the Toyota FSM (yup, that's where I learned it!) and step by step iprocedures are given for Toy techs to follow. If it's good enough for Toyota......

Its a v6. She was sitting for a month and the battery was dead. I cant charge it living in an apartment no electrical outlet. Cool old Optima battery is 5 y/o time for a new one. Shop sold me a wrong model.

    Admitting some ignorance...

I put it in blew fuses
Talked to mechanic at shop he got it running by fixing fuses flipping battery, cutting stereo wires that didn't fit.

    Long story

Got a new battery correct battery today after a day on the phone with Optima and Oreilys.

Need to patch the wiring. Ideally need new terminals and get it cleaned up.

Getting tired of this after a few days.

Now the gas peddle doesn't work at last start. When shop looked at it replaced fuse. I can't figure out which one. I put in a new EFI fuse haven't tested yet.

The throttle would not respond this morning after starting. When a fuse was replaced by mechanic yesterday it was ok. Ground was not attached due to wiring issues.

can you resolve the wiring issues? Your chances of success would be greatly improved if you eliminate these as a possible cause. At the very least re-ground at all key points.

So you connected the battery with reverse polarity?

If so you blew at least the main fuse. Depending on other things it may have well toasted the ECU as Toyota is suggesting.

Yeah I admit using the wrong part caused the problem I could have been more aware. Wish I’d have known. Thanks for listening. My girl has been out of a week I miss her. I hope she recovers and understands how much I care.
