Just like the header says. What’s everyone’s experience?!

Currently rocking KM3s. I’ve been impressed with them overall, but they are much louder than I thought they would be considering they’re known for being a rather tamed MT. Now they’ve worn enough to where they’re just beating me to death and it’s aggravating to drive. No real fault to the tire, they’re just that worn. But it’s just really driven home the fact I’m sick of the noise and tired of the crap ride when most MTs get towards the end of their lifespan.

Pretty sold on either the RT or KO3. Read tons of reviews on both, I’ve had plenty of experience with both brands just not the particular tires in question. Rather than taking tire rack’s reviews for their word, figured yall would know what’s up.

All the reviews for both are great. The RTs the one negative that keeps popping up is road noise. I’ve had 2 sets of Toyo MTs. 1 on a 1/2 ton and 1 on a 3/4 ton. I was extremely surprised with the lack of noise, ride and longevity of those tires. And that’s on trucks that are heavier than a Tacoma. So I’m thinking, “surely they have to be quieter than the MT and I thought the MT was quiet on heavier trucks. These reviews must be from some turds that have never had a truck or a tire meatier than factory tires.” …. The KO3 seems the one common negative was they wouldn’t balance out. Really trying hard not to get something that’s gonna ride rough or wobble, I’ll just stick with a sure enough MT if I’m gonna do that.

Ive had 2 sets of BFG KO2s and they were great all around tires. Pretty much silent. Im sure KO3s would be even better in all aspects. I dont think I would ever buy KO2/KO3 though, from my experience there are better ATs such as Falken Wildpeak.

Toyo RT is a hybrid tire, i never ran it but i bet it would be louder than KO3.

Just replaced my ko2 with the rt trail. Went up in diameter and width and down in weight. There is more noise from the rt vs the ko2 but it not annoying, at least to me. But my drivers side leaf it squeaking like crazy.

KO3 here. Much better than KO2.

BFGs most popular tire, and one of the most popular tires of all time is the k02. The likelihood they screwed up the ko3 is almost nil. They will be durable and quiet tires.

I totally agree, but it’s like 1 in every 3 reviews mention something about them not balancing out correctly. So there’s got to be a little substance to the claim I would think. Again, just trusted everyone’s opinions on here rather than nerds on generic sites like tire rack and all.

OP I think some people are confused about which Toyo RT you’re asking about…Are you considering the original Toyo RT or the newer Toyo RT Trail?

I think this would depend on your use cases and where you live. I had Ko2's prior to my current set up on Nitto Ridge Grapplers, and I thought the Ko2's were just okay, but I live in in SoCal with no inclement weather. Nitto Ridge Grapplers (which are similar to the Toyo's) I think give you best of both worlds. More aggressive like your KM3's, but also have the benefits of a AT.

BFG gets a lot of hate, and complaints, but that is just because they are so popular. With millions of K02s being sold, there is bound to be some defects. But overall their popularity is deserved. They are rugged well-made tires.

if my life depended on not getting a flat, I would run a BFG.

I had zero issues with balancing on my 265/65/17 E load and 265/70/17 C load KO2s.

BFG KO3 and Toyo RT or RT Trail are two different types of tires.

The KO3 is an all terrain, "the BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO3 tire is made to grip. The serrated shoulder design and mud-phobic bars improve upon KO2 tire’s legendary mud and snow traction."

The older Toyo RT "Off-road performance meets on-road comfort with the Open Country R/T. Built rugged for any terrain, this powerful 4x4 tire offers excellent off-road traction, durable construction, and aggressive styling. Its ability to tackle dirt, sand, and rocks is inspired by the legendary Open Country M/T, while its quieter ride is a nod to our best-selling Open Country A/Ts."
The newer Toyo RT Trail "is designed for light-truck and SUV owners who want more off-road capability than a traditional all-terrain, without the noise and harshness of a dedicated mud tire."
