    >50K miles… I like ‘em.

Excessively lubricate/anti-seize the bottoms when you mount them up. Do your control arms and leaf bushings while you’re at it.

You’ll need upper control arms too… I’d say SPC or OME.

And order with the appropriate pre-load on the front coils for your set up (bumper, winch, etc.)

[the guys at my local scrap yard let me put my front tires on their scale]

I had them, they were decent, said I would get 2 inches of lift with ARB bumper and a winch, I got less then 1 inch of lift and that was with Max pre load. I swapped to dobinsons mras with there heaviest coil couldn't be happier.

I actually bought @Dalegribble02 OME BP51s off of him when he swapped to Dobinsons, he gave me an awesome deal so I thought I would try them.
If I was paying full price I would want to get some shocks that could be rebuilt locally, just makes things easy. The OME are supposed to last quite awhile before needing rebuilding. I am running no weight at the moment and have only 5mm for preload getting right around 2 inches of lift.

No, Haha, I have been debating getting a full bumper. I have been storing your winch mount in my garage, keeping it out of the rain!

Dobinson's MRAs are a better shock at a better price, and they offer support for their products. If you damage a set of Bp-51s, need rebuild parts, or any parts, you are SOL. ARB has nothing stocked in the US. I've got a set of BP-51s on the shelf that I can't use for this reason. I replaced them with MRAs, problem solved.

i have a rci bed rack with some accessories on it now. later ill be getting a 23zero rtt which weighs about 130lbs. from a video review I've seen its a hassle to get the wrench in between the coil to adjust rebound etc.

I still have the bp 51 rear shocks, they aren't bad never adjust them since it's a pain in the ass.

I also have a RCI bed rack with a tent and a small job box just of tools, I have Deaver u402 stage 2s. Those springs and beef.

Have them on my DB. They are amazing riding shocks. But I only have about 10000 miles on the kit so far. So :fingerscrossed: i dont have any issues. Have the full kit front and rear with OME uppers.

Love my bp-51s, just wish they came with a better leaf option. My kit came with the newer style dakar leafs but they squeak like a mofo after only a year.

short term: fluid flim/woolwax applications to the leafs help. Longterm, would like to get a better leaf pack if possible.

Info from when I installed it last year.

Measurements: passenger front is up about 3 inches (hub to fender went from 19.875 in to 22.75); driver front is up 2 inches (hub to fender went from 20 in to 22). Added small headstrong spacer to correct taco lean since I wanted to keep preload the same on both sides.

2.5 gen with relentless front bumper; winch; relentless sliders, factory skids. For weight perspective relative to height gained.

I've been running them for a few years now with now issues except for the crappy HD Dakars that came with the kit, which I recently replaced with Alcans. I also got the BP51s back when ARB was sending them out with a high amount of pre-load that I have to back off a bit for my setup.

Installed mine a week ago today. Huge difference in ride quality over my existing setup which was OME 886’s + @HeadStrong Off-Road 1/4” spacer’s and OME NITRO charger shocks with OME DAKAR HD springs.

I’m running an ARB bumper with winch + ARB dual compressor mounted under the hood close to the grille and AGM battery.
I have Demello Off-road sliders and out back a 4xInnovations bumper with swingout tire carrier, hi-lift jack and fuel can.

I set my preload at the following based on this thread: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/ome-bp-51-install-report-and-height-adjustment.476085/

    Driver: 17mm
    Passenger: 15
Do have 1/4” spacers as well.

Still playing with the compression and rebound settings but over all they ride great on the highway and the little bit of dirt roads I have traveled I have noticed the truck feels more controllable compared to my old setup. All In all I’m very happy. I also towed my boat to Arkansas earlier this week and notice a big difference while towing in overall ride quality and control.

Love em. I have a static load of 1360 pounds and I'm riding at 2 inches with the factory presets and OME add a leaf. Great rebound all around along with the right amount of firmness in the rear. I went with SPC uppers and the alignment was spot on. Shoved 85's on a 16 inch wheel and she rides like a dream!
