Hi everyone! I want to start off by saying I am in no way connected to either product.

I have a 3rd gen super white with bad rail dust up here in the rust belt. I'm going to get it paint corrected and coated. After doing some research and I guess going down some rabbit holes, I came out more confused then before. I want some REAL world opinions from people who have experience with either product.

Every reddit post about Icon rockclear seems like a fake post. And it's just people arguing back and forth.

I want to hear it from some brothers in arms. Who has either product on their tacoma and what do you think?? Thanks!

Skip both. The paint on these trucks is junk and will chip too easily to justify the hassle of a good ceramic coating. Products like rockclear or any other wipe on clear coat type products are a terrible idea, always have been and always will be. Stick with simple but effective products. I am an extreme advocate of Klasse High Gloss Sealant Glaze because it is easy to work with, doesn't expire, a little goes a long way, and compared to ceramic, graphene, wipe on clear coats, etc... is incredibly cheap.

Source I used Klasse on my previous daily driver for 10 years with excellent results, I went through the hassle of applying carpro cquartz UK 3.0 to the tacoma and the results suck considering the cost, and work involved in the prep and application.

I started with Turtle Wax Ice Seal N Shine Hybrid Sealant Spray 2-3 times a year, then upgraded to Carpro CQUARTZ UK 3.0 in the second year. Now I'm pretty laid back about it and only wash my truck 2-4 times a year. I do a thorough wash and detail in spring, midsummer, and fall, using the Turtle Wax Ice Seal N Shine. During winter, I skip washing completely (except maybe a quick rinse when it's above freezing). Even with this, my paint still looks great going on year 4!
