I have an ‘01 V6 AT Tacoma. Need to replace the fuel injectors. What do you guys think of
    https://www.ebay.com/ulk/itm/143501071302

If negative, then can you recommend something else? Limited budget here and can’t afford the LCE ones.

Denso seems to make all the best parts for our trucks; I put in Denso spark plugs at 100K miles!

No. Never buy denso parts on ebay. People love to counterfeit them. Buy from a trusted parts house. Napa, Rockauto, Advanced, the dealer etc.

I’m having trouble finding a Denso Fuel injector that isn’t on eBay. Even on Denso’s website...

I think @CS_AR did injectors recently. Maybe he can chime in with what he used.

All Im saying is that denso parts, particularly O2 sensors and fuel injectors are commonly faked. Id be leary of buying them from some no name seller on Amazon or Ebay.

The OEM brand is Aisan from Japan. It is either wholly or partially owned by Toyoda like Aisin transmission.

    https://www.aisan-ind.co.jp/en/

I got burned on some counterfeit injectors from Amazon that literally started to melt and caused a major fuel leak on my intake manifold. I was lucky that I caught it before the truck went up in flames. Any part of the fuel delivery system should be taken seriously.

There is a brand of parts named parts Intermotor that I have found to be re-boxed OEM. This holds true for Honda, Nissan, Infiniti, Lexus, and Toyota. Intermotor parts are not cheap. If you know how to find Intermotor parts on RockAuto and use the TW discount code you can enjoy savings. Intermotor FJ585 injectors sell for $77.79 each at RockAuto.com. There is a link to the discount code in my signature line.

If you cannot afford new Intermotor injectors from RockAuto at $77.79 each, then I would get my existing injectors serviced for $25 to $30 each.

OEM injectors and Intermotor will will have a testing lot number under the part number as shown in the picture below.

    upload_2020-2-8_19-6-6.jpg

Packaging needs to indicate the injectors are Made in Japan. This is an Intermotor packaged Aisan injector from RockAuto.

    upload_2020-2-8_19-5-3.jpg

Packaging may be in a blue or red box.

If somebody can read and follow your post and still manage to buy fake ones, well...... :DYour post is the most comprehensive post to tell AND show everyone how to do the most they can to avoid purchasing counterfeits. And they still have to verify with the parts in hand before installing. It's not a good thing per se but the fact that you went through it and were able to document and photo all of it will be a big help to folks in future. I hope they heed this post advice and warnings to avoid the hassle and headache:cool:

These injectors from the link above are as counterfeit as the day is long. No testing lot number under the part number. Event the pintle cap is the wrong color.

Back in 2016 I had a 1999 4Runner (same engine) and I had mine replaced with these refurbs:
    https://www.fiveomotorsport.com/1999-02-4runner-2000-04-tundra-1999-04-tacoma-34l-6-cylinder/
After a discount code that I found and the core charge refund - which they were prompt with - my final cost was a little over $300. Put about 20k miles on them with no issues until a tree fell on the 4Runner and totaled it.
As stated above, stay away from the ebay ones - when I was doing research there were several guys on t4r.org and elsewhere complaining about fakes.

They are manufactured by Aisin and then boxed in different companies depending on who's selling it. Intermotor boxes up these Aisin injectors, just as an example. I think Rock auto sells some real injectors. They cost a lot more than fakes but the fakes can actually cause more damage to the engine

Used those on a 4runner for a buddy. Dont. they're fakes. the damn things started melting into the intake and always ran warm. Denso does not make aftermarket injectors, and No one is selling legit toyota injectors for 89 bucks for a set

I went with the injectors from MotorWest and I'm confident they're the real deal. The owner, Martin Diaz, seems to be a trustworthy source. I've only been running these injectors a few weeks but they've been leak free and problem free so far. I don't think you'll find a better price on real injectors.

    Gotta Agree !!

Since even Japanese companies who hate China with a passion have jumped on the made in China band wagon so many knock offs since the boxes and labels are made in China .

I can see where so many would be suckered into buying knock offs that look so real.

To @Empty_Lord 's point, for the 4 counterfeit injectors (on the left) that I installed, all had pintle caps that either melted into the intake manifold or deformed and leaked.

I am very lucky the truck didn't go up in flames.

The two (2) normal looking injectors on the Right are OEM/Intermotor that I reinstalled after buying four (4) more from Rock Auto to replace the counterfeits.

    upload_2020-2-9_5-53-2.jpg

Counterfeit injectors with melted pintle caps.
