Those are coaxial and you already have tweeters.

You have a tweeter in the dash, the focal speakers you linked to are coaxial. They are a 6x9 woofer with a tweeter mounted in the center.

The ones you want are these
    https://www.focal.com/en/car-audio/.../integration/plugplay/focal-toyotar/is-690toy

These will also replace the kicker tweeters you already put in (yes you do want to replace the kicker tweeters with the tweeters that came with the focal system)

Ok but are you saying that these will not work or will not work well? Would I not just have 4 tweeters instead of 2? Just want to see if this is a compatibility issue or something

They will work but will sound bad. You dont want 4 tweeters. treble is very easy to locate directionally, having tweeters by your feet and on the dash will just sound bad, not to mention it will be overpowering the bass.

There is a reason that no companies put more than 1 tweeter in any speaker (home, car, pro audio)

Did you need an external amp or did you just ran it off the factory non-JBL headunit?

understood thanks. I did order the IC690s already but can easily return them and order the IS690 instead. Can i choose not to install the focal tweeters or are they required to be installed in order to work?

They are not required, but the system is designed to work together. The focal tweeters will be of much better quality than the kicker ones.

OK thanks for the info. I'll return the IC and order the IS set.

Will just sell the kickers locally or on here.

There's nothing wrong with having an additional set of tweeters -- that frequency range is so directional that a lot of the highs from the new door speakers won't make it to your ears, and you can always turn down the treble if you want.

As for the Focal speakers themselves, I think they suck, ESPECIALLY for the price. I listened to these speakers and a bunch of other 6x9s with Crutchfield's SpeakerCompare (https://www.crutchfield.com/speakercompare/). They sound really muffled and dull compared to other options for $100/set (less than half the price).

100% disagree. When you have two sources emitting the same frequencies it's much harder to get anything time aligned and definitely impossible to set up any kind of stage balance. He would need independent control of the extra tweeters and a DSP to prevent phase issues. Having two tweeters on the same channel doesn't work the same as having a single one with a wide dispersion pattern. To even get close he'd have to mount them all together.

OP is trying to improve the audio in his truck (with tire/wind/engine noise). If this was a discussion on hi-fi in your quiet living room where one can devote 100% attention to listening to music, I'd be more in your corner.

Also, for the record, the IS690TOY component set also sounds unimpressive on Crutchfield. Maybe it's better in real life? Myself, I put the money saved toward a new headunit.

I have some of the speakers on crutchfields speaker compare thing, and they dont sound like in the audio they have. The JBL stadium sound very tinny on crutchfield, but sound smooth in my truck. I wouldnt rely on that as a very good resource at this point in time. Though it is a good idea, there are just too many variables.
