I'm steadily removing the chrome bits off of the truck. Can the chrome covers on the door handles be removed without messing up the handle? Would it just be easier to remove and replace the handle completely? I don't want to spend the cash for new handles if I can avoid it.

You could probably trade a member for their non chrome handles. Someone out there loves chrome.

They look like add on's. They're in great shape and nothing at all wrong with them I just want to go either black or color matched.

If a/m they will come off with some heat (heat gun) using a soft tool (plastic windshield tool or a nylon tool) to help release. Then use a adhesive remover like rubbing alcohol or goo gone.Should not be a big deal!

Bummed to hear this OP, had no idea the handles could come in chrome. I only have my rear bumper that is chrome and I cant stand it!

Me too. I want to remove mine and powder coat it satin black. I loath chrome.

I already have color matched paint to paint my grill housing when I install some mesh.

I got my grill color matched as well. It's amazing how long it took Toyota to figure out the color matched items over chrome look so much better on an off road truck.
