Third brake light replacement

Has anyone had leaking third brakelight? I just bought a new stock led third brake light that mounts from inside the cab where the headliner needs to be pulled back. Anybody have experience with pulling back the headliner to access the third brake light? If so di you have any tips? I don't want to ruin the headliner or brake anything during the process. I wanted to order the mesocustoms 3lultimate 3rd brake light which mounts from the outside [so much easier], not to mention they are awesome looking. But unfortunately they are not in stock at the moment. Sooo, I needed to get a solution to the problem if water leaking into the cab and dont want the connector to corrode. Thanks in advance! Ps if anyone on here has information of when meso customs will have their brake lights in stock again. I'd greatly appreciate it.

It’s a PITA to change the stock brake light. Horrible design from Toyota.
I’m doing another batch of brake lights in 2 weeks.. if you can wait it will save you a lot of headache of installing. Mine you can mount from the outside so it’s easy to remove/reinstall if needed.

 

It's not really that bad the 1st gen used the same basic design and mounted from the inside

 

Are you gunna make anymore for the 2nd gen Tacomas been wanting one with an antenna mount
