Better to remove ReadyLift and put the original sport wheels back on the truck first?

    Thoughts?

Does that increase trade in value?

    Always.

Never adds value, especially on trade in.

You will get more money selling your mods off the truck. Heck, the dealer might throw more bones at you if the second set of wheels was in the bed?

If you're trading up to another Taco and like your mods, then flip them to the new one.

You're selling a nice ACLB BBP?

I'd say definitely remove mods if trading in or selling to a delaersuip or CarMax or something like that. Keep mods if you think it will help private sale in your area.

I know people here love the LED bars and aftermarket wheels so I'm keeping them on when I sell my tundra private party. If it's something nobody will even notice or care about then remove it (I'm removing my home link rear view mirror and I 99% know nobody will think twice about it being there or not).

    Just my .02

I always wanted a black car or truck also, then I just see how bad 99% of them look, some even with temp tags still on them. I want to not care that much, esp with a truck. Hell, it seems that even the non-clear coated Super White can be a pain.

Just for the record, I wash mine less than once a month.

Why not keep the one you have without the stupid TSS and wrap it black.

Unless someone makes you an awesome offer on the truck as-is, take all your mods off and put them up on ebay. Like everyone else says. Unless you just want to be done quickly.

    This and that...
If you're not in a rush, do some math and see how much you will need on a private sale to allow you do do the mods on the next truck. If it isn't moving, take the mods off and drop the price. I don't think I will ever sell to a dealership due to how much you loose on that type of sale.

    Nope. Best color on earth.
I’m an avid detailer and only buy white for that reason.

Yep... a friend recently bought a black T4R Pro, picked it up with 1 mile on it and drove it 200 miles home from the dealership. I saw it the the day he brought it home and it already looked older than my 2 year old truck with all the swirl marks all over the place. He tried to keep it shined up and waxed for awhile but eventually, like most folks who own a black vehicle, he gave up - it always looks dirty and scratched up and still has less than 10k on it and he hasn't even wheeled it yet...

In general I recommend turning back to stock. The other question is if it's worth your time. Assuming it's a ReadyLift spacer lift that retails for $370 you might get maybe $100-$150 if you sold it locally or on the forums. So is that work worth what you would get for it on here? If it worth your time then turn it back to stock otherwise if losing out on $150 isn't a big deal and more of a hassle then I say don't. Swapping wheels and tires should be easy however.

That is where it works. I don't get any joy out of detailing except when I buff out some nasty marks or pinstripes.

Exactly! Unless you know where the damage is, mine is looking good right out of an automatic car wash.

Thats why you find it hard to keep a paint job looking good. You take your car through swirl machines and wax/sealant strippers.

I didn't say that I was having a hard time at all. I just I don't bother with hard to maintain colors. No regrets here.

Yep, great automatic touchless wash by my house - I'll run through there once a week, then so long as it hasn't been nasty weather-wise I'll hit it with some McGuires quick detailer 2-3 times a week, and if it's been really really dry, I'll go two weeks w/o washing it and just rely on the quick detailer and it looks pristine. Also a big fan of the Fast Finish, I'll use a fake clay (mit) from Chemical Guys with some of the detailer stuff about once a month to remove any deeper contaminants after a wash, then detailer, then fast finish and care of the truck literally takes me less than 30 mins every week and it still looks new.
