Hello! I’m thinking of purchasing this 2011 Toyota Tacoma SR5 4x4. Rebuilt title. Looks good drives well but I took a few pictures from the underside that concern me.
Also the traction control button when pressed doesn’t do anything.
If you can all take a look at the pics and give me your opinions that would be very valuable to me
The truck has 95k miles on it. Turns on without a problem. Runs great. The bottom looks rusted and it looks like there might be a leak towards the back (there where no puddles or liquid coming out while I drove it and had it running) but kind of looks like a wet spot on the 2nd pic, I touched it and it felt like oil. All help appreciated thanks!

The traction control is always on, press and hold the button to turn it off.
Your 3rd member is seeping gear oil.

Thank you! Will that be a problem if the 3rd member is seeping oil? And is that something easy to fix and will it be expensive?

The truck was hit on the passenger side door. They replaced the door and painted it and I believe the airbag went off and now I can see on the dash the light on for airbag. The door shuts fine now and no air seeps in while driving on the freeway.

The side steps look like they where welded on. I don’t have a closer pic unfortunately.

Seeping diffs are not easy or cheap to fix, Toyota has tried to fix this under warranty. Persistent owners got the only cure, Total differential replacement.
Others resigned themselves to frequently checking differential oil level and topping up as necessary.
Service managers are trained to address this phenomenon as seepage not leaking. 3rd members are cast steel, some seep, most don't.

Double check your insurance will cover a salvage title truck.

I'd be sure to negotiate the price waaayyyyyy down for that airbag light being on as well as the potential of none of the airbags going off ever (if they even were replaced) in the next accident that occurs.

They’re asking $15k for the truck but I’m thinking of offering $12k for the truck not sure if that might be too low to ask.
