Hi! After lots of research, I'm pretty exited to announce that I've been able to finally find a "new" 16x8" steel wheel that will clear calipers and have a decent looking offset. So lets start by the wheel itself and after the story on how I found it.

So here it is, 16x8 D windows Toyota specs direct fit.

I'm opening my small 4x4 store that is specialized in Toyota 4x4. I was convinced there was a wheel somewhere that could will fit our trucks without caliper issues. I can tell you, these kind of steel wheels are sold by a lots of companies with lots of different part numbers. Therefore, you never can tell if they are actually the exact same wheel from the same initial manufacturer of if they came from different factory with small differences.

So name it, Pro Comp, Cragar, US wheel, Raceline, Vision and on... I almost try them all I think... So I found the good one by actually ordering a part number without picture, brand or complete description. The kind of product you usually skip when you don't want to have problem with your order!

You will see on the picture, even if it's hard to see but the dish behind the wheel is more hollow. To show the caliper clearance I held a thick washer that I've measured to be 0.150" between the caliper and the back of the wheel and it still clears good. I didn't want to make a video but you see a picture of the wheel that I've actually spun by hand and took a picture.

I measured and compared the offset using as a reference a 48'' level. I've compared with the same suspension position my stock 16" wheel and the 16x8 wheel. The 16x8 have a small positive offset but it will actually make the edge perfectly flush with the flare of the truck. The specs are the same offset as TRD Pro wheel have.

Update: They are currently available at 139.99$ USD per wheel, 10$ delivery to your door. Centering rings and black lug nuts available too.

17x8-0, 17x9-0 and 17x10-32 are also available. I test fitted 17x8-0 and they clear calipers no problem also.

If you want to order, send me a PM, I will send you a commercial invoice that you can pay via money transfer or even easier, I can send you a Paypal invoice, you tell me what you prefer.

Your business will be really appreciated and it will help me a lot with the start up of my 4x4 shop. Don't hesitate to contact me if you have any question.

    Thanks! :)

Nice find. I had set years ago and could never figure out how to get another set and eventually gave up trying.

For what I know the last steel wheels that was fitting were sold by Wheelers off-road. Often named the "wheelers wheels". I think the design was the 8 rounds holes therefore. But there was definitively a gap of time where none of them were offered.

I'm pretty sure that small positive offset allows to install bigger tires that the usual negative offset wheels. I have the dream to install TLS 34x10.5-16LTB with a regular 3 inch lift. Sure it might rub but I wonder if it will rub enough to not consider them as a viable option. Maybe one day! :)

    Thanks

dude i need a set of these!

i am in the process of returning some vision d windows that rubbed on the "bulge" where the flat surface that contacts the hub transitions into the rim wall.

let me know about the ordering or where to get these or the part number, anything will help.

Installed a set of these yesterday purchased from Dick4x4.
Black lugnuts and hub centering rings were also installed, no spacers needed.
Painted the dustcap area black with rustoleum gloss back.
No lift on truck, suspension is stock.
The tire shop moved over the stock sr-5 firestone destination 245/75-16 tires and the TPMS sensors.
    no issues.
