I called my local dealership to inquire about this and the parts guy told me he needed to call Toyota and get back to me. What he told me was that the new part number was for a different part that was produced to deal with the TSB issue, but they also fixed the issue in the original part after the TSB which is why now there is only one (the old) part number. Supposedly assemblies ordered with the pre TSB part number now no longer have the melting DRL issue. I think I'm still going to throw LEDs in my DRLs just to be sure, but this is the most recent information I have as of today.

Look just do what I did and it cost me $40.00 and 30 minutes of my time and no more DRL's or LEDs.
I used relay # 81980-02030 and JUNCTIONBLOCK (TOYOTA PART) #82671-30360 here is the write up.

    Bought the relay from eBay.

Sounds like a suspect explanation. The entire TSB is around the new part number being the fixed version. Why would they discontinue the fixed part number and revert to the original flawed part number (now claiming it is the fixed version), it doesn’t make sense. The DRLs between the flawed and fixed lamps are distinctly different, if you purchase them, you can share the image and it would be easy to determine if it is the fixed or flawed lamp.

    Also, welcome to TW!

I've had the wiring harness and bulbs for awhile now. Haven't installed it. I've actually considered selling it.

I may get around to it. I did like the led brightness of my tundra. I know these aren't led, but the brightness should be close.

You might actually find that they put out more light than LEDs. Trust me on that one.

That's the main reason I haven't got around to installing them yet, I don't do much night driving either.

I don’t have data on the Tundra OEM LEDs, but this upgrade is brighter than the 3rd Gen OEM LEDs, which are also fantastic.

    Tell em @crashnburn80.
Don't make me figure a way to come down to SC and help you put it in. But then again I do need to go to PSA to shoot some at the range in Greenville.
    Oh off topic. Do it

So I’ve had this kit installed for maybe 2 months now and it’s great, but my high beam indicator just started coming on when just my low beams are on. If I switch to high beams, they come on and the indicator brightens. So both low and high beam work, but the high beam indicator is essentially on all the time. Any idea what this could be?

It just started doing this a few days ago, everything worked fine when I first installed.

What year is your truck? I think somewherebmid-gen they changed from a ground switched to power switched circuit, and you're describing how my first (homemade) relay hsrness acted when Ininstalled it in my 4runner (before I realized it was ground switched, and I made a relay harness for power switched circuits)
