According to iSeeCars the Honda Ridgeline is the best used midsize pick up. The Tacoma won 2nd place as the best used midsize pick up.

Best Midsize Pickup Truck: Honda Ridgeline

    iSeeCars Quality Score: 9.0

    • Reliability Score: 8.6
    • Retained Value Score: 8.4
    • Safety Score: 10.0
Average 3-Year-Old Used Car Price: $32,942

The midsize Honda Ridgeline is the iSeeCars top pick for the Best Used Midsize Pickup Truck. Long known for its reliability, Honda's lone pickup truck provides the same durability its cars and SUVs are renowned for. And with its unibody design, the truck drives and handles with the comfort of an SUV while providing more fuel efficiency than the standard body-on-frame pickup.

Best Used Midsize Pickup Truck Runner-Up: Toyota Tacoma
    iSeeCars Quality Score: 8.5

    • Reliability Score: 8.5
    • Retained Value Score: 8.9
    • Safety Score: 8.0
Average 3-Year-Old Used Car Price: $34,803

The midsize Toyota Tacoma earns honorable mention as the iSeeCars runner-up pick for the Best Used Midsize Pickup Truck. Toyota has a reputation for building indestructible trucks, which is proven by the performance of the Tacoma. Along with its high reliability and safety ratings, the Tacoma also holds its value better than any other pickup truck.

To be fair, ridgeline is a very good vehicle and will suit most TW members just fine. It’s got a better ride, more power, more room inside and from what I read, better MPGs.

Where the ridgeline really sucks is off-road, good for FSRs but that’s about it. Also it has a spare at the bottom of the bed, which is super inconvenient if you get a flat while having load in the back.

I mean if one can get past it’s horrible looks and lack of off-road capability, then it’s not a bad vehicle at all.

If you wanted a truck and ended up with a RidgeLine I think there would be some buyer's remorse issues you'd eventually have to work through. It's as exciting as kissing your sister through a screen door.

Because secretly you want a superior truck, the ridgeline. I heard it’s got a better heavy duty minivan engine than the Tacoma has.

90% of the people complaining on TW would have been much better suited to a Ridgeline. The Ridgeline would handle their unrealistic expectations of a vehicle much better than a Tacoma would. Honda put some thought into that, hence these results. Good on them for it.

100% of the people who’s 1st post is complaining because they did absolutely no prior research before purchasing a vehicle.

I was curious what the justification for the -2 stars on safety vs a ridgeline are, seems like otherwise the tacoma woulda came out on top and they don't really mention it in their description other than `and the Tacoma also scored high for safety`.

Looking at the NHTSA.gov site it seems like the Tacoma got 3/5 on "Frontal Crash" (where ridgeline got 5/5) and 4/5 "overall rating" (where ridgeline got 5/5). Everything else was identical.

    The more you know.

If a Tacoma has a retained value score of 8.9, I’d sure like to know what a 10.0 is.

Now, if Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond & James May go on to tell me my Tacoma sucks, I'll start listening

The ridgeline. The Prius might just have the torque to do it!

Old irrelevant men who are long past their prime and should have been retired years ago?

Wait, what does Toyota use for brakes on the rear of the Tacoma again?
