Like everyone before me has said you should be good. I have power washed mine and taken it through the automatic washes and they have held up fine. The only time I have ever had to respray them was when I curb rashed my dipped wheels and that was it.

Just like any painted item. As long as you cleaned and prepped the surface properly before you applied the dip. You should be fine. Most paint failures are from improperly treated surfaces before application.

Over 250 pages in this thread but id like to give my opinion on PD. I really like it and the glossifier helps it look almost painted. My only thing i dont really like about it is the rubber texture. I realize thats the whole point of plasti dip so you can remove it. And it was also created for metal tool grips on pliers, hammers, and stuff. But i actually like the Duplicolor Wrap spray. It goes on the same as PD but when it dries its completely smoothe to the touch with great durability also.

I think theres a few other brands of "removable paint" out there. Rustoleum i know has one and maybe Armor All? Either way thats just my thoughts. Way cheaper and easier than painting and any over spray can be pulled right off. Not sure if the picture shows it and I'll say it again but the black PD and glossifier looks really good.

What kind of bed liner? Love that, might go over my high-gloss black grill with it.

Was a nice day outside so I went out and dipped my grill surround. Really loving it!

Hey, anyone have experience on if plastidip will hold up to the tire mounting process? I have a set of rims, no tires that I want to dip. Should I wait til after the tires are mounted?

I would honestly wait til the tires are on because the tools will mess up the dip

Yea, I thought it might. Thanks. I don't have any experience with plastidip.

Not sure if I missed someone else posting this info, but...

I have used plasti dip on my Taco for a few parts, wheels/bumpers/etc. I was at Auto Zone the other day and saw that Rustoleum has a similar product. Due to their color choices, compared to the Plasti Dip colors at my local Lowes, I bought a can of their orange coating. I sprayed my motorcycle helmet and found it to be the same as PD, as far as ease of application and dried look/feel. So if you are looking for some brighter colors locally then might be worth looking into.

I heard that stuff leaves an awful film that's hard to remove if and when you decide to peel it off.

Bronze wheels are awesome! I had bought some vintage gold plastidip for the wheels on my red truck. But then I bought a white aluminum commercial style cap and i think the bronze color won't look quite right with the cap. I thought about dipping the cap a dark grey to match my base fender flares but it seems like a lot of work...

You plan to do the fronts as well or do you like the contrasting front and rear?
