Whats up y'all! Just throwing in a fun new product for all you Super Pacific owners out there. Now you can take them off by yourself anytime, anywhere in about 15 minutes flat. Been working on this product(s) for sometime now and thought some people would like to get their truck back whenever they wanted. And these don't just lift the camper, they clamp down to hold your V1's in place as well. That last photo is just another camper that I tested months ago. Cheers! Check out rapidtopper.com

I DID do a search. Google and here, but cant find the info i need. One of my door latches needs to be adjusted, its slightly loose, if that makes sense compare to the other one on the same door. Anyone know how to adjust it to be a tad more snug so it wont rattle?

Yes im shutting it hard enough. Its just the front driver side door latch.

Not sure of the correct/best method but I've played with mine some. Moved the latch on the panel back (toward the panel itself) and was able to eliminate the poor shutting and rattling.

Sorry for the delay, I’ve been getting crushed at work and then using the camper on time off!

the chairs are the REI outward low. They fit me (5’10) and a taller buddy (probably 6’1) when the floor is in/roof closed and have a slight recline in the back and there’s no problems unless you’re sitting bolt upright. They are kinda $$ so I think any low kinda classic beach chair would work. There’s a padded version of these too.

My “build” is just my Yakima rack from my last truck for surfboards and the chairs I just bungee against the wall. I have a yeti cooler that is also my step into the bed/ table for the chairs/bonus seat. Lights are just a rechargeable lantern and the solar Luci string lights from REI. Storage is a duffel bag or two and a kitchen box. It’s mainly stuff I already had from camping/outdoor guiding.

My last truck was super built out and this time I try to keep it simple. If I was to build anything I think it’d be a small lengthwise bench some surfboards could go under (boards are so annoying for space management) and my cooler/duffel bag would be easier to access from the side hatch. Also a lower profile roof rack with more cross bars would be cool but I can’t justify it with the Yakima working fine.

I have one of each of the hatch storage bags and the roof bedroom bag thing from SP which I love, although I wish they came in bigger sizes too so I could use a mesh one for my wetsuit to dry.

I might eventually get around to some pics but it’s nothing special unless you really want to see my mess. Love the simplicity and functionality of the camper.

if anyone has any experience with roof weight limits, let me know! I usually have a big bag of surfboards I take off and leave my single longboard up there but couldn’t find a hard limit on weight when the roof is raised.

any other questions or pic requests let me know this forum helped me a lot and I want to pass it on.

Since prior to purchase I questioned about temporary self-removal, it was never really addressed (hire a picker truck for $250?!).

This is a very slick solution!

I need to figure out an awning to get. Should I start a new poll to see what people are getting?

I know the FSR is popular & SP sells them. SP doesn't recommend the Alucab Shadow due to the weight, but does anyone have problems with it? I wonder about other heavy awnings.

Check out this site. Just became a dealer for this Australian Brand. On par with the other brands as far as $ but look to be lighter...

    https://www.basilsgarage.com/clevershade-awning

Moonshade is a good cheaper option unless you specifically wanted a 180/270 type.

I've got a OVS 270 which is pretty heavy and ended up using 4 awning mounts which is maybe overkill. How easy it is for a single person to setup and take down makes it 100% worth it.

I have an Overland Pros wraptor 4K and I’m very happy with it. It’s held up great. I used 3 brackets but could have gone with 2.

I don't remember where I saw this, and I can't find the reference any more. BUT I remember someone talking about putting rubber bumpers on their prinsu to keep the cab-over from knocking into it. Does anyone remember that? I'd love to know if that is still working.

(I think these were the bumpers they used: https://www.amazon.com/shortname/dp/B0BWM3T7MP/ .. but those seem too short to me)

As I understand it the flexible ones have a shorter life span. They can get damaged easier. They have to be attached using an adhesive such as VHB tape, silicone, Eternabond tape, etc.

Rigid panels need mechanical attaching such as a rack, crossbars, etc. Thus they stick up higher giving an inch or two less clearance and thus may cause a bit more wind resistance and possibly wind noise. They are a bit more efficient for a longer life span. If, when they fail they are easier to replace, ie, unplug, unscrew, r&r.

Another option is the portable panel. The advantages of the portable is nothing to attach; you can park in the shade while the panels can be placed in the sun.

It’s all a gamble. Good luck in your decision!

I’ve also been trying to figure this out. I recently purchased 2 flexible renogy panels. They both arrived with scuff marks on the top and one was already starting to delaminate on the corner. I’m sending them back today. I’m going to try a rigid one.
