ok, quick question... If I'm running wires into/out of the X1 using the grommet at the front (see pic below), do I drill through it? Pop it out? Pop out, drill through, insert wires and then seal it? Replace it with a gland-nut?

I want to run the wire I'm going to need now since the spot on the inside where it comes through is going to be covered.

I cut slits in my grommets, just enough to shove a wire through.

You could look for a door jamb wire boot, shave a bit of the grommet to provide a tight fit on the boot. That way, you can exterior tape the boot to seal. I did that for my cab's OEM grommet:

Has anyone found a decent black touch up paint pen or spray for the powder coat? I unfortunately scrapped up my t-slots when installing my 8020 roof rack bars. I’ve seen products out there from ARB and Frontrunner, but thought I would ask here before diving in.

Ha! I JUST emailed SP asking that same question. Pretty much the answer was "something black."

I have a couple small scratches. I think any black touch up pen would do, flat-ish.

Might have an issue with the door not sealing completely, when half the paper towel roll gets sucked out on the freeway lol.

    Rear height measurement...

I know this will be varied with suspensions/tires and how much it may drop the rear after install but trying to get an idea if I'll be able to fit in my garage.

Currently have 265/75/16 tires and will have the 111R dobinson springs to start with +2" at front.

Anyone offer rear heigh measurments from the gnd to top of camper?
    Thanks for any information.

Thanks. Looks like I may have to just get a tarp, or let some air out of the tires...trip truck so wanted to keep it closed up as able.

I have 265/70/17 tires and the same dobinsons setup front and back. I just fit in our 7.5ft garage with 38psi in the tires.

Don't forget to take into account any slope of your driveway as you pull into the garage. Mine has slope and the rear passenger corner of the camper rises a few inches as the front driver wheel enters a dip, just as the high spot clears the garage door. There was about 1/4" clearance when the camper went on. After installing fridge, cabinet and awning on that side there's a bit more.

Thanks folks. Work in progress but looks like it'll be close either way and little better as I get more completed.

Sorry in advance if this has been mentioned but has anyone removed their camper before? If so how'd you do it?

@alberttang I've done it twice. They are easy to get off. get 5 buddies, 12 pack, two 8' 2x4s and a couple of saw horses. Make sure to unbolt all of the clamps. Getting back on you will need a boom lift or something that can lift the X1 and place it straight down. You need to make yourself a harness, two 5 ft and two 6 ft lengths of rope. I put loops on each end of each piece and just looped them through the hand holds on all 4 corners of the X1.

You'll need to get new bulb seal for the X1 before you put it back on. From McMaster Karr: Water- and Weather-Resistant Foam Rubber Seal Surface-Mount, Hollow, 1-1/2" Overall Width, 20 ft. Length Sku 93085K92 Hopefully this helps. If you want more info, DM me and I'll send you my cell #.
