Well, Jackery CS has convinced me to go with another brand, because after watching that video and getting a response to the above email, they're mailing me a cigarette lighter cable so I can charge the battery?

I've been very very happy with this one from EcoFlow.

    https://us.ecoflow.com/products/river-max-plus-portable-power-station

No experience running a Dometic off of it, but I am running a cheapo fridge off of it with no issues at all. It has an in flow of about 90 watts when charging off of the car and the fridge draws about 30 watts when the compressor is on, so it's always having a net positive charge. It also charges incredibly fast off of AC and hits a full charge in an hour or so.

Second the Ecoflow recommendation! Not trying to be a commercial but -

@essjay - They just released the River 2 Pro (768Wh). The other one to look closely at is their Delta 2 (1024Wh). Both are LIFEPo4 batteries. The Delta 2 is one I think would be better suited for any extensive outings. The River 2 Pro is smaller and charges a bit faster. I ordered the River 2 Pro which is supposed to arrived today. The Delta 2 I'll be ordering as soon as a better coupon for the single unit drops (I have the 220w panel since it was part of the River 2 Pro bundle).

Right now, you can score the Delta 2 + their 220w bifacial solar panel. They have a $350 off coupon when bundling the two together. Brings the price to $1299.

The River 2 Pro can be had with the 220w panel for 949.

Take a minute and look over all the info for both at the EcoFlow site. Really impressive charge time and the fact they're LIFEPo4

EDIT: The Delta 2 is now sitting in the back of the rig and handling everything I throw at it. Have an Extra Battery for it as well, if needed.

At home, I have the Delta 2 Max along with 2 extra batteries. Working on my setup and still need the transfer switch panel before my home solution is completed. 6kWh!

what’s the best power solution to run a CFX3 35?

From my research I’m reading the best option is Jackery 500 and 100w solar
I don’t know if a smaller Jackery would suffice, or if bigger 1000 is needed

the internals of GZ Yeti 500 supposedly trip constantly with the initial surge power requirement of a fridge

EcoFlow seems to have negative reviews

Stand-alone/self-contained DIY battery box using an AGM seems to be similar power level and cost but a lot more complicated to set up

Recent trip to west coast and back home.
    Dometic CFX3 45.
    2 Jackery 500
    1 100 w Jackery Solar
Jackery runs Dometic 24/7 and charges from vehicle DC.
2 days use without DC it got down to 50 something. I switched Jackery units and charged it with solar in a few hours.
    Nothing remarkable.

    What was amazing was ....
I had put a 96 oz frozen water bottle in at the start of the trip. After 2 weeks and 4 days i poured out the "unfrozen" water. 24 oz (3 cups). I only use it as a stabilizer. It works well.

Post number 7 . Seems Jackery has zero after care repair after warranty is out. https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...-recommed-wihle-camping.792327/#post-28469568

Just ordered delta 2 with the panel tonight . That thread pushed me toward ecoflow. They have 349$ discount on ecoflow website for the bundle

Let me know how you like the Delta 2.

I grabbed the River 2 Pro on it's launch day and finally had a chance to throw it in the truck and see how it did with the CFX3 45. I have a 100w panel on the roof of the cap and have the Dometic set at 34 degrees and MEDIUM batt protection. 48 hours and the River 2 Pro was at 60 some odd percent remaining (this was with no input). Today I had to run some errands and took the taco. I was shocked to see the River 2 Pro was pulling in 60 - 80w+ at times from that 100w panel. With the GoalZero Yeti 1000 I NEVER got above 50ish watts. The charge controller in the R2P buries that GZ MPPT. What's interesting to me is according to the R2P, the CFX3 45 was at most pulling 40-50w when the compressor was running and was bringing in slightly more with just the rooftop panel.

So while I'm satisfied with the R2P and having it handle the CFX3 45, I did notice a few issues. The X-Boost claims it can handle 1600w going out. It does this by reducing the voltage. I tried to run a hot water pot (1100w) and it immediately overloaded and shut off. A small dorm room style microwave (700w) would barely run - the R2P defaulted to X-Boost and the voltage was messed with. The microwave light would flicker and it barely heated anything. They updated the firmware and that might be it but I need to take some time to call support and see what is going on.

Of note, the aging Goal Zero Yeti 1000 with it's 1500w/3000w surge Inverter, that thing handled everything I through at it. Granted its more than double the weight and its old ass LiION-NMC tech but it certainly did what I needed it to do.

The R2P is a great little solution but IMO the Delta 2 would be the better unit to have in the back of the rig. You want that initial coverage with output.

I'll probably keep this one and move up to the Delta 2 or the Delta Pro with the next sale.

Still haven't been able to test EcoFlow's 220w panel. Was going to set it up today but didn't have the time.

Following up on my last posts, Jackery sent me a new 550 along with a pair of these adapters. Tested them at home running an the CFX3-45 at 36 degrees for a couple days (empty), and didn't have any issues.

Why get a Jackery when GZ has more ports and the same price EcoFlow has more power + can charge from a wall empty to full in 1hr

which way? I need to figure out if they vent from the back vents too
    Or only the side
I see the right side has a fan
First I had mine forward thinking it vents sideways (to give air room) but changed it diagonal when I saw it has a bunch of slots at the rear as well

Because I already have the Jackery, and I'd rather not buy a new unit and deal with flipping the Jackery if I can avoid it. I only use 1-2 USBs and the DC power for the fridge, so more ports isn't a real benefit, and while faster charging is nice, I've got solar panels for when I'm going to be sitting in one spot for more than a couple days (and, for wall charging, I keep it stored at 100% anyway). The biggest advantage for me would be a smaller form factor (the fixed handle on the Jackery really is a poor design) so that I could put it under the fridge platform, rather than up on the platform between the fridge and the pup. I'll probably end up getting an Ecoflow at some point for that reason, since they're a bit smaller (and having wifi monitoring would let me comfortably keep the unit stowed).

As far as the direction of the CFX3-45 in my access cab, I have it on the passenger side sitting sideways facing the door. I've got about an inch between it and the back wall. No issues with overheating.

Behind passengers seat handle facing passengers door. More than a few inches at vents that are on the driver side of the Dometic as it is positioned.
Easy access to inside the Dometic, even while driving. Passenger can open and access anything in the cooler.

    Note: I have seats removed.

    Interesting adapters.
Is there any advantage to them? Or is that just to bypass a possible faulty cig lighter connector?

I like that idea. I keep having to physically make sure that the Jackery is charging every time we stop and start. Dometic Bluetooth monitor is a great feature we use a lot.

For those of you removing seats,
Do you keep them stored? (storage, garage, etc)
Or do you throw them away?
