This will open many debates. Pennzoil platinum is the current champ. I am a sucker for Castrol Syntec though and have always run it when I'm not using factory oil.

There is no wrong choice, even the factory 0w20 is a semi-syn that holds up for 10k.

Toyotas all did look good in red green and white though.

10 different people will give you 10 different answers. I vote for amsoil signature. They've been doing synthetics the longest and are a true synthetic instead of hydrocracked like many of the other "synthetics" on the market.

Mobil 1 with an OEM filter. I have used other brands as long as they are fully synthetic.

The OE oil is what I'd recommend. But your general top tier fully synthetics are all compatible. I personally like M1 of that bunch. Oils are so damn good these days you truly can't go wrong.

If I was changing my oil myself I'd probably use Amsoil or Royal Purple!
But I opted to use and take advantage of the
    Drive-Sure plan offered by Toyota!
For a dollar a day seems like a no brainer to have all the benefits you get with this:

I use Toyota's 0w20 in my wife's Highlander and have used it in her old RAV4. I read very good things about it on BOB IS THE OIL Guy and on multiple other sites. IMHO it is one of the best on oils the market so much so that I wish Toyota would make a 5w30 synthetic as good. Runs nice and quiet and does a good job keeping the engine clean. If you are willing to purchase a case of 12 and compare pricing you can easily get it same price as Mobil 1, Castrol and Pennzoil.

I agree with the Amsoil. By the way, if anyone wants to try some, I am a dealer. PM me and I can get you what you need.

    all tore up already
I use bulk synthetic for 2.69 a qt because any full synthetic will be ok for 5k and cannot justify double the cost plus for a prettier bottle. That being said the highest quality oil i think i sold doing parts was pentosin. The high performance III was like $15 a qt.

But since additives are secret info, its nearly impossible to compare. Try to find a hard piece of evidence mobil super synthetic is any different than m1
