The 2024 Tacoma looks disgusting!

I have owned 2nd and 3rd gen Tacomas and had no gripes with looks inside or out.
Does anyone else have this strong of a negative visceral reaction to the 4th gen like me?

    Just Yuck!

On just plain appearance alone of the interior/exterior I wouldn’t buy one. I like the idea of better seats/seating position, aluminum hood and tailgate, better engine/drivetrain options, rear disk brakes, coil rear multi link suspension, more trims but I really hate the new interior and exterior looks. 3 shark fin antennas on the pro? Really ? I don’t want or need a power tailgate. I don’t need or want a giant tv screen on the dash to blind me with sun glare. I don’t want a little removable Bluetooth speaker on my dash to rattle or break or get lost leaving a dash hole. It is just way too busy and over-styled inside and out. We know what it is, you don’t need all the overly bold and stuck on branding Trd, trd, trd, Trd, trd, Trd, Trd, Trd, Trd, Tacoma, Tacoma, Tacoma, Toyota, Toyota, Toyota, Toyota on every individual part. Let’s put a giant grab handle in the way to bash my knuckles into when I shift my manual into 5th gear!

I’d put the overdone styling right up there with the last gen Civic Type R.

And what person approved the giant snow plow lower chin spoiler? Who needs a two foot long raised letter Tacoma or Toyota script above their glove box? Red camo seats on the pro? The door cards give me nausea they are so dang ugly and busy. I liked the styling just fine on every other Tacoma until this generation. I wonder how much those shock seats will cost to repair when they break out of warranty? And I’m sure pricing is gonna be bonkers just at msrp plus expect crazy dealer markups! You want a TRD PRO or Trailhunter? I hope you have $60k plus market adjustment.

I will be looking more forward to seeing what they plan to do with the new Toyota Stout.

Hahaha I came here to read the pissing and moaning from y'all. So far TW does not disappoint!!

FTR, I think 4G knocked it out of the park. This new design is gonna be "yuuuuge"!

sorta. i think they tried too hard, like they did with the tundra. agree that both the exterior and interior and are too busy and over-styled. i am not a fan of all the angles and hard edges.

i do not mind the chin strap on the G3, but WTF were they thinking on this gen.

I really love the 1st Gen, the 2nd gen was bland to me, the 3rd Gen was a great look and style. This 4th Gen, I think is an excellent natural progression of style and look from the 3rd Gen. I think they move away from the awkward look of the Tundra to make the Tacoma a better truck. The move to better accessorize is sweet too, aftermarket support before the truck even hits the market!!!

Ford did this in the 90's, they built 2 test mule '93 Fox body Mustangs with 4.6L drivelines. After testing them, Ford gave the mules to aftermarket companies to produce parts for the SN-95 Mustangs do out in 1994. This shows that Toyota is paying attention to their customers and what they do with thier trucks. Maybe people didn't get everything they wanted... but it certainly seems like they trying to make a better product.

The TRD and Toyota emblems are definitely over the top. The pro looks like it has emblems on the hood, steering wheel, dash, the trim inside each door, the seat backs, air intake, skid plate, exhaust and UCAS o_O

Even the sport has "tacoma" in large font across the dash and "trd" on the inside door trim pieces :puke:

I find people who have a 'visceral reaction' to the styling of a truck very funny.

It looks fine, but a little too in line with other new generation tricks from other manufacturers. Doesn't really stand out much to me.

I dunno, the new one had me a little jealous. Looks dope, looks like it may be harder to fit bigger tires w those fenders. But the hp is cool. I DONT like the giant ass touch screen. Just give me knobs and shit that always work, i dont need no stinkin touch screen.

I never warmed up to the 3rd gen styling, the 4th gen looks much better to me.

I'm surprised on the Pro it looks like there they used the shiny piano black plastic on the wheel flares, the top tailgate plastic and some plastic bits on the rear bumper.

Also agree, it's a bit too busy on the interior and exterior. Overall I think the look is better than the 3rd gen but I'm wondering on the practicality of some of the styling choices.

I do see great practicality in the use of large knobs and that they ripped off? Chevy's piano key style switches below the center LCD screen. Should make manipulating dials and switches a lot easier when driving.

No money, all went to truck...
I don't care how it looks. All I care about is "2.4 liter inline 4 turbo with 6 speed manual." It could be a turd on wheels and I'd still want it.

I'm just glad it doesn't have the gigantic grill they gave the Tundra, but yeah it does seem like they went a little too hard on the robo-truck look especially on the TRD Pro. The PreRunner is more subdued and looks better, I think. Can't wait to see the SR & SR5.

    I like most everything on the redesign except two areas that are a swing and a miss;

    1. The boxy rear cab with spoiler
    2. The rear end tail lights and rear bumper corner angles

And yeah, the interior color is too much but I fully expect that to be optioned based on trim and model as it is with gen3 and thus, avoidable if you don't like it

Three years from now, I will be contributing more money to Toyota Motor Sales. (I like to wait a couple of years after a new model is launched.)

My daughter has dibs on my '23 Tacoma.
