Will be a new owner of a Tesla model 3 soon.
What are some essential tesla accessories /mods you recommend?

    My list so far:

PPF (maybe) full car or front end?
bigger usb/ssd for sentry mode recording
    charging adapters
    full tint
    set of winter tires

Any other essential EV specific accessories I need?

Maybe ask the Tesla forum instead of the Toyota Tacoma forum

Charger at the house or a 220v outlet to use the mobile charger.

    • I've done PPF on the front of my Teslas, also include a piece on the bottom corner of the back doors. They stick out a bit and rocks love them.
    • If you have winter then you'll want mud flaps to help tame the road grit.
    • I've never felt the need for winter tires. The car goes pretty well with the all season tires. (assuming you're getting an AWD version. RWD get the snow tires)
    • The car comes with a J1772 adaptor that is needed for hotel charging on road trips.
    • You can buy a CCS to NACS adaptor. I've got over 35K miles road tripping and I've never used mine once. Yet I still drag it around on every trip.
    • I tinted my front windows help match the rears. I didn't go for a direct match because I still like to see outside at night.
    • Floor mats because the factory ones are made out of recycled toilet paper
    • Trays for the center console. They're nice and big, but without the trays they become black holes for your stuff.
    • If your state requires front license plates you'll want to buy an after market mount.
    • Skip the bigger USB for sentry mode. After a while you'll get bored watching people walk by your car minding their own business. In busy parking lots I've come back to a dozen or more sentry alerts. Ain't nobody got time to watch that.
Home charging gets its own paragraph because it is the game changer for EV ownership. I'm assuming you are a normal person that doesn't have some weird edge case driving requirement. Normal means you come home, eat a meal, hang out for a while, and then sleep for around 8 hours. People that do that can use a mobile charger just fine. Depending on how much you drive you might be able to charge with a standard wall outlet. If you can have a 240V 50 Amp circuit with a NEMA 14-50 outlet installed at home DO IT! With a 50 Amp circuit you can charge at the 32 Amps allowed by the mobile charger. (50 Amp, 32 Amp, 240V it's easy to to get confused by all the numbers thrown around. The important numbers to remember are 240 Volt 50 Amp with a NEMA 14-50 outlet. And don't buy the cheap one from the big box store, get the good one.) You can spend more and get a wall mounted charger that will charge the car faster, but I don't see the need because I'm a normal person.

Enjoy! I'm 3 years into EV ownership and I'll never buy a gas car again.
