Getting to start all over :)
    Hey all,

Was wondering if anyone has just replaced the pulley on the serpentine belt tensioner and not the whole assembly before. My tensioner pulley, along with anoter, has bad bearings. I just don't want to shell out the dough (I know it's not allot) for the whole thing. Also my time is quite limited due to moving across country very soon and working most days until then. I want to get it done for peice of mind before I leave. I just cannot find the tensioner pulley part number itself only the assembly.

I've also been all around this site but the only think I could find is a guy that replaced the bearings by pressing them in and I'm not to keen on that at the moment.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Did you get them directly from nappa? Also did you get a longer bolt for the tensioner pulley or let it ride short?

It would be ideal (beacuse cheap) but reading that post with all the part numbers and never have pressed anything before I wouldn't know where to begin.

It took less than 5 minutes to remove the stock bearing and install the new one.

Is this the part number you used for the tensioner bearing? Also you got a V6?

    Found this video.

    https://youtu.be/JWd8LFPCPBg

Posting it here for my reference and for others who Google TW. Shows pressing a bearing and lucky I have this punch kit from when I did my ECGS clam shell a few months back. So I'm pulling the trigger on the Nachi bearing and Gunnar give this a shot. Thanks everyone for your input! Don't hesitate if you have some more insight!!

    So I got these parts:

    #2 idler pulley X2: 6302RMX Koyo

    Tensioner X1: Nachi 5203-2NS

I believe these to be the right bearings... However for the #1 bearing I'm just gonna buy a whole new one because I don't feel comfortable adapting so much on a pulley so close to my crank pulley. It's not too much though so no worries.

Again thank you for your help everyone. I'm kind of on a crunch time to get this done. Leaving in a week to drive across the country and I want to be as safe as possible. I just only noticed these things recently..... Shame on me.

Good that you're going with just changing the bearings. Changing the entire tensioner is a PITA, you have to remove alternator, unbolt and twist the AC compressor out of the way just to get to the tensioner arm bolts. Mine started making a fucked up clicking noise coming from the spring and had to swap it out. (it wasn't the bearing, I actually kept my old pulley/bearing for a spare)

Yea... Didn't want to do that.... I have a whistle noise under acceleration and at idle after a new belt unsure 100% if it is a pulley but I know at least two of them need to be changed so why not get them all done. Hopefully that will get rid of that annoying sound. I'm at 140k now so I'm not upset about it. Just kinda bad timing right now lol.
