Removed those Shin blasters, added some nice 20” wheels, and slowly looking to level the SR5 in the front.
I am now a 3rd Gen TACO Owner. I had a Pre-Runner 2006 before. I can already tell there is a lack of pick up with this engine. Supposedly the ECU will figure out your driving style, but I will get smashed merging onto the Highway before that happens. Here are the few I have heard the most about:
Pedal Commander PC31, Banks Pedal Monster, WonVon Throttle Response, IkiKin, Aner, and Acclope. You all know a lot, and I KNOW you have opinions. GO

Best throttle controller is my foot. Best mod to make the throttle more usable is a tune

Thanks for the "Life Lesson" Which Tuner did you use?

Skip the throttle controller module of any brand and get a tune. The throttle controllers are just a quick patch to make it feel better. The tune will make it much more enjoyable to drive for a couple hundred dollars difference. I have the OTT with the mild/spicy setup and it is great.

I have OVTune (now VFTune) but there's a number of tunes around like KDMax

Thank You! It might depend on who can tune it, where I live in SC

A tune is a much better bang for the buck.

Somewhere on this forum is a link to Tuners by State or region.
I don't have time to find it right this minute but someone probably has a Quick link to it.

Funny, smashed merging into traffic. I drove a 1990 S-10 with the old 2.5 Iron Duke and a five speed for years with maybe 100hp and had no issues merging into traffic.

Get OTT, or KDMAX Tune. Skip on any of those pedal controllers.

I understand all about driving a "real Dog" I was comparing the acceleration difference from my 2nd Gen. The 3rd Gen has plenty of engine to travel, it just is seemingly in ECO mode all the time.

So Many people have mentioned this. Looking on their site, There are Tune from Home options, and I was thinking that may be the same as a throttle controller? Is there enough business out there to become a Tuner? buy the whole set up? Time will Tell.

No money, all went to truck...
I can't compare to a tune cause I've never driven a tacoma with one. I got sprint booster and enjoy it. It's adjustable and does what I need it to do. Easy to remove if needed.

I’d go the tune route. Had a sprint booster for a short time before getting the tune. The tune is much better and I’ve read more than one instance of the PC problems people have had. Not much more money for the tune. I’d do it right the first time and not waste the money on the sprint booster if I could do it again.

The Banks Power folks picked up on that and have ran a marketing campaign with that. Their three part system cost more than a Tune!
