I am looking for a way to get techstream for my 2021 Tacoma. Does anyone know where to get the software and the interface at a reasonable price?

Does almost free work? See the 1st Post of the ECU Update thread. Link in my signature.

V15 is there. The only problem is that you need to find a place to get the Activation Key. MHHAuto.com is what I used, but it costs about $27 to join.

Other versions of TS are hosted there, so future updates are easy.

    My Taco: 2021 SR5,
I have installed 3 different versions of TechStream on my windows 10 64bit laptop.
V15.00.026, I can only select 2020 not 2021 in this version
    V15.30.026
    V16.00.017

I get them all to connect and brows around, but I was wanting to change a few settings.
After connecting, I click on "Customize Setting" button which brings up: Select Customize Function" page.
From this page I have around 14 functions. This is as far as I can go...the problem...
I double click on any one function and nothing happens. I looks like it try's to load but eventually does not load.
All 3 versions give me the exactly same results.

If anyone has success, please let me know which version and possible location of download.
Any info will be very much appreciated.

    Thanks guys
    Brian

Another version added to the list
V16.20.023 but still have the same problem.
The screen says S601-31, it pops up and then disappears.

2021's are fully supported on V15.20.xxx and later. How is it activated and what cable are you using?

You don't double click. You select the function, then hit the green arrow in the bottom right. It is all touchscreen-like for working in a shop environment.

    I have 2 sets
    1st at Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B087CZDF4H?ie=UTF8, with V15.00.026, MVCI Autokent x64 - 1.4.3
    loaded with TS loader.exe
    2nd at obdii365.com: https://www.obdii365.com/wholesale/mini-vci-for-toyota-with-toyota-tis.html, with V15.00.026, Autokent x64 - 1.4.3

When I get a chance, ill try to find and load V15.20.xxx

And I will try selecting and click green arrow

    Thanks to both responses,

It is likely your Chinesium cable. I had the same problem with two different versions of TS using a cable off Amazon. Got the Tactrix cable and was then able to access the customization menus without any problems.

Could you recommend a source to purchase the Tactrix cable from? Are there different models of that cable? (I've been looking to get started on my 2021 but the proper cable & software selection has caused me some confusion.)

Too many clones running around, best source is direct from Tractrix -
    https://www.tactrix.com/index.php?p...m_virtuemart&Itemid=53&redirected=1&Itemid=53

or the BST forum (OVTune cable is a Tractrix) For example: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/ovtune-cable-meso-parts-and-misc-other-items.733722/

PROBLEM SOLVED!!..."Customize Setting" button which brings up: Select Customize Function" page.

    I had to install either MVCI Autokent-X64 - v1.4.6 or MVCI Autokent-X64 - v1.4.8 on TS V16.20.023.
It also worked on either cable that I had.
It might work on earlier Techstream versions, but don't know. But for sure I have the wrong firmware version.
There are still some "Customized Functions" I would get a blank page, (not populated)

    (Blank Page)
    Wiper
    Slide Roof
    Senor
    Unit Conversion
    PSD&PBD
    Power Windows
    Smart Key/Access
    Seat

So maybe these blank pages will populate in a update/new TS version?????

    I have 2 sets
    1st at Amazon:
Mini VCI Cable, OBD2 J2534 Cable Connector Scanner Adapter Fit for Toyota TIS Techstream V14 V15, Firmware V1.4.3, OBD II Adapter Connector Diagnostic Cable Scan Tool, Support Win XP/ WIN7 WIN10
    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B087CZDF4H?ie=UTF8, with V15.00.026, MVCI Autokent x64 - 1.4.3
    loaded with TS loader.exe
    2nd at obdii365.com: https://www.obdii365.com/wholesale/mini-vci-for-toyota-with-toyota-tis.html, with V15.00.026, Autokent x64 - 1.4.3

No. Those blank customizations are just placeholders for features on other Toyota / Lexus models. As far as we have seen, newer TS versions do not add any additional customization features. The Taco is what it is.

You want to see something sad, plug into a 2nd Gen. The only available customization is the seat belt chimes.

That is sad, I was hoping to change the drivers window to Auto Up and Down. Assuming iit was in Power Window page, which is a blank page.

Tacos are Toyota's entry level pickup in the US. It is what it is. We're the bottom feeders. Personally, I'm happy with what is available.

Changing the Auto window function is a hardware change. Some folks have done it.
