is the tech package worth the price on a 2019? Test drove one the other day, & its huge compared to my old 1993 truck.

I have the tech package on my 17 OR and it’s “convenient”. Would I pay $3k for it....probably not.

I bought mine used about a month ago CPO with 6k on the clock. The dealer used it as a reason to ask way to much for it as I didn’t really want it so I basically negotiated it out of the price and then some.

It really depends how much you need/want the blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, rear parking sonar, and color keyed bumper caps.

Factory Blackout package, Soft roll up bed cover, Cheap seat covers, Front and rear dash cam, AVS in channel vent visors
I ended up with the Tech package due to my color getting discontinued and I had to jump on one soon. Is it worth it? That depends on what you like. I do like the Blind spot monitor, but dont rely on it. The back up sonar can be annnoying at times, but a push if the button takes care of that.

I’ll tell you what. When I got my taco I got the tech package without even knowing I didn’t even know the differences I simply lucked out and glad I did. I’m not a fan of the chrome rear bumper. My only regret was not getting the premium package the sunroof would have been nice. but I didn’t know better.

Since your in the market I suggest you get exactly what you want. If I can do it all over again I’d get the tech+premium. It’s worth it!!!! And would look out of state since there usually cheaper then CaLiFOrNiA

When I bought my truck, Premium & Tech were a single package instead of separate, the sunroof is a really nice.

I think you are thinking of the Premium package that is $3k. The tech package has the extra sensors and is under $1k if I remember correctly.

The tech package is $770 according to my window sticker and was absolutely worth it to me. The BSM and cross-traffic alert are safety features that I had to have, don't really care about the rear parking assist sonar. I also got the Premium package and that was worth it to me as well.

Ok now everyone is confusing Technology vs. Premium package I think...

Premium = leather seats, sunroof, JBL, etc.

Technology = BSM, RCTA, parking sensors, etc.

    Separate/different packages!

Yeah I would say the tech package is a pretty good buy. If anything, you'll get the colored bumper caps. If I could redo though, I'd get the premium as well. Oh and MT.

If you plan on a steel rear bumper ever, BSM won’t be compatible. I’m in that boat now and this is probably the only case none tech would have been a good call.

Back up sensors still work but I leave them off. The camera is good enough for me and my tailgate is down or I’m off-roading enough that I get a lot of false alarms.

For 2016 and 2017 they were combined as a single option, 2018 and 2019 they are separate packages

The tech package was worth the $770 in my Off-Road because I don’t have look at a chrome rear bumper. It’s color matched with the tech pkg.

In 2017 the premium package did not include leather. I have the sunroof, JBL, etc.

I greatly app the insite folks. Having been a volunteer EMT/Rescue Tech for 15+ years, while nice to look @, one wreck I worked....After That.. I will NOT have a moon/roof/sunroof etc. TRUST me on that one. Granted, Toyota is prob built a LOT better than Dodge ones.. Sometimes I still have flashbacks..... <shiver>

The tech package will help you save in insurance. From that perspective alone it's worth it.
