Hi all...Just your thoughts on the following matter. I went on the site "CARCOMPLAINTS.COM. I discovered that at this time the site lists 329 Technical Service Bulletins applicable to my 2017 Tacoma TRD Off Road 4x4. I am aware of the TSB 0077-16 that has to do with Shift Feeling Enhancements. But I am remiss about not knowing about the other over 300 TSB's. I started to review the list and quickly became overwhelmed. The many I did review did describe issues with the 2017 tacoma.

    So how to proceed:
    1. Do I call the service depart and tell them that I may apparently need some repair work?
    2. Will service review the bulletins for me?
    3. Will service provide me with the bulletins and complete repairs?
    4 How do I handle over 300 TSB'S

I also noticed that the 2017 Tacoma has 5 recalls that I was not aware of that apparently are applicable to my Tacoma. I did not receive any notification.

Any thoughts...you may want to review the "CARCOMPLAINTS.COM" site.

Thanks for your time and thoughts on the matter.

The nhtsa.gov site has the TSBs themselves. There are something like 255 separate Manufacturer Communications noted by the NHTSA. There are certainly not 300 TSBs for the 2017 Tacos.

To get a TSB addressed, you have to be within the noted warranty period and be able to demonstrated the symptom to the dealer. The dealer can deny a TSB fix as they are not required for safety and generally have some wiggle room as the work needs to be reimbursed. Basically, don't set your expectations too high.

Recalls are another matter and must be done, unless you choose to ignore them. So, those should be easy to get addressed, if they are applicable to your Taco. Some may have been addressed by the factory.

I plan on getting this TSB done while I go to the dealership the next couple times

I'm glad to have read your comment that they can deny it. I might have to wait till it's 100 degrees out and they feel the AC is running not cold enough to justify

That a/c TSB is a tough one. I felt that issue, even up here, ever since we stepped away from freon, but be sure to take a look at that TSB fix. It is quite involved. I haven't seen any posts around here about it being screwed up, but dang . . .

Dang, you're right, 60 pages of instructions. I might just suck it up, or something might get screwed up during the fix...

Yeah. That one is a mess.

There are easier ways of adding an aux fan to boost cooling. Even easier if you don't mind it being a bit more manual. I've used a manual fan switch on my bike for about 13yrs to keep the coolant temps in check.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts and comments. To "tonered", on the web site carcomplaints.com, one can navigate to the 2017 tacoma and the heading will say
    2017 TOYOTA TACOMA
329 TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETINS (TSBS) and 5 recalls...check it out.
I went to the nhtsa.gov site, and thanks for that headups, but could not find the TSB'S. Anyway I get what you are saying. But I am very surprised even by the 255 separate Manufacturer Communications noted by the NHTSA for the 2017 Tacoma. So it appears that the burden of proof is on the customer/owner. I do feel that us owners should get a headsups from the dealer on TSB'S applicable to their vehicle as it is almost impossible to stay on top of all these TSB's...just saying. Any other comments are appreciated and I will attempt to get a comment from my dealers service department. Thanks again everyone.

Just follow the steps in my signature and you will end up here. That MC is the TSB-0043-20 Rev 1 PDF file. Again, not all 255 of those MCs are TSBs. Some are technical bulletins, obsolete notices, and such.

IMHO, the nhtsa.gov site is as official as Toyota's TIS. carcomplaints.com is a less trusted source.
