I wanted to make a easier post to highlight the Tacoma offerings we have.

We will start off with our 2024+ Tacoma full skid plate package. It has the following with it.
    • Engine Skid Plate
    • Transmission skid plate
    • Transfer Case Skid Plate
    [IMG]
Please note our oil filter access door is not shown in this photo, but is the same size as the one on the 3rd gen tacomas.

We went all out with our 2024 Tacoma skid plates. Recessed reinforced bolt holes, reinforcing ribs, the works!

We also have our 3rd gen 2016-2023 Tacoma skid plate package.
    • Engine/Front skid plate
    • Transmission skid plate (also protect catalytic converters)
    • Transfer Case Skid Plate.

We also have A Arm skid plates and a fuel tank skid plate designed that is just awaiting test fitting.

We have gone the extra mile to try to make these skids have better coverage, and be stronger then the rest. We offer them in 3/16 steel powder coated texture black, and 1/4" 5052 Aluminum.

Any questions, feel free to ask away!

    Happy new year everyone.

We are still looking for a 3rd Gen Tacoma with the plastic fuel OEM fuel tank skid to come by our ship to test fit our fuel tank skid.

Does it matter if it is a short or long bed? I have a 2016 double cab long bed TRD OR and can bring it down to you. I am in Bastrop now, but come through Houston pretty regularly to visit my sister.

Hey Talon, do any of your trans skids fit an access cab 2.7L 3rd gen with the auto trans? Would it be compatible with the oem TRD engine skid?

I am going to double check my notes when I get to the office, but I am 90% sure you need a 2wd plate for a 4 cylinder 4x4 truck. I am fairly certain the engine and transfer case skids are the same but I am not sure if we have ever test fit them.

I feel like I saw one of your customers with a 4cyl access cab 3rd gen post something along those lines but I have not been able to locate that post again.

    The Front skid plate fits.

    The 2wd Transmission skid fits

The rear cat on the 4cylinder truck was in the way of our transfer case plate.

We did just update our transfer case plate, but I am not sure if it would fix the issue.

Can you send me a close up of those recessed bolt holes? They look like they protrude quite a bit.

Are you asking for 3rd gen or 4th gen? 4th Gen has the bolt holes recessed. 3rd Gen does not.

I'm asking for any close-ups from the ones posted. Out of curiosity. I click on the image to enlarge it, but it's too blurry to see any details. Blame it on mobile.

I do not have any others from a 3rd gen truck with the shields installed. I can get you a screen shot of the cad if there is anything in particular you want to see. I see you have a 3rd gen in your signature so I am assuming that is what you want to see. \

I do have a set of 4th Gen shields installed on a display I can get you some better photos of.

So, just to be extra clear, this is the trans skid that fits a 2.7L 4cyl 2016+ access cab auto trans 4x4 taco right? https://talonsgarage.com/products/t...ield-3rd-gen-2016-2023?variant=45418622222644

Am I correct in assuming it can be used in conjunction with a TRD engine skid?
Been looking for a trans skid for the better part of 3.5 years lol I hope this is the answer to my prayers

As long as you have the 4 Cylinder engine yes, that is the correct plate. Please include a note that it is for a 4 cylinder 4x4 just for a check.

Our plates do work with the TRD pro plate and several have installed it with it, but with how the back of the TRD pro plate recesses the bolt holes in the rear of the plate it won't be a perfectly flat transition from TRD pro plate to Transmission skid.
