It's time to replace my tailgate weatherstripping. The image shows what I have - it's 18 years old now. If somebody could tell me what the name of the part in the image is, it would really be helpful. I've spent about an hour on the internet but cannot find it because I'm not sure what to search for.

This is a neoprene part and it's sold in lengths.

Oh I see now, I bet you're talking at the top of the tailgate where the back window of a shell comes down or something, right?

Yeah, kinda threw me for a loop because I've never seen a tailgate with weatherstripping, doesn't mean it doesn't exist though. But makes sense that's what'd it be.

Here are a couple of images. When I replace the weatherstripping I'll make it longer so that it blocks (as much as possible) the bottom and the top corners.

I also need to find something else to put between the shell and the bed rails. I was thinking of neoprene rubber strips that are 1/8 inch thick and 2 inches wide, and without adhesive (I can pop-rivet them in place like is shown in the images).

I really appreciate all your help!

I just put a new weather strip between the shell and the bed, I used this https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00C7VU9BA/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 It is self adhesive but I don't plan on removing the shell all that often so I'm not worried about it moving. It's 1 1/2 wide and seems to be the right width, just barely wider than the bed rail.

I've been trying to figure out how I want to seal off the tailgate, this may be my answer. How well has it worked so far? I have a couple of local places I can check, I'll let you know if I find any.

Yeah, I installed the weather stripping myself after I installed the shell. I also used duct tape to seal off the holes that are underneath the bed rails inside the bed. Seemed to exacerbate the problem. After 3-4 years that became brittle so I took it off, and that resulted in much less dust entering the bed :).

My experience with adhesive-backed foam weatherstrip tape is that after a few months the adhesive gives out somewhat, allowing the seal to slide down and out of the bed below the tailgate. It was a sticky mess. Also, the stuff compressed after one day in the hot sun and never returned to its original thickness. Since then I bought a rubber bed protector and positioned it so that the tailgate edge went underneath the tailgate when the tailgate is closed. That prevented dust from getting in through the bottom.

@Rschap - thanks for the link and the comment. I visited the website and now have some options from which to choose.
