Pretty cool, at $600ish isn't a must have...but is something to add to the maybe list. Probably doesn't reduce the costs must, but maybe I'd jump at a unpainted bare bones, no carpet or struts package.

I was thinking the same thing - i'll ask them if they're willing to offer that option.

    That’s pretty!!

The Land Cruisers have options and I wondered why Tacomas never had much support for it.

IMHO, these guys missed the boat. 18mo ago before the flat TG panels became a big thing was when this needed to be out. Good idea, bad timing for many reasons, and just the wrong price for the mod including the amount of work involved to trim the TG. Especially without the knowledge of capacity. Could you still load a bike or few and not collapse the TG?

Is there enough room in the Handle thread title for more crappy KTJO 4x4 :puke: products?

Not sure what makes this a must have when it's so much more expensive than the others they list. Does it show dimensions inside at all? Also, how is one to tell if it's compatible with locking mechs? Seems like a risky purchase imho. Too bad I already purchased a flat cover too.

Always room for more. Maybe people like me will learn after it gets to be a couple thousand pages long.

$600 bucks to have something clunking around in the tailgate?

    Awesome.

    All the things!
It also seems like you're removing a lot of support structure from the tailgate. With all of that structure removed, what supports the tailgate skin? That's a lot of unsupported thin sheet metal.

Not to mention, no more soft open feature... the weight of the product alone will cause it to slam open, long before you fill up the storage.

That is my thought, if the intent is to still use it as a truck. A capacity / capability statement should be noted.

My question is - what they hell are you going to store in there that's worth the investment? Who wants shit rolling around and bouncing up and down in the tailgate? I guess I could add another layer of soundproofing to the back wall to cover up all the noise coming from the tailgate.

Seriously, its a cool nifty storage location. But $600?! Just to store some ramen, tie downs, and maybe a tow strap? I'm sure its not cheap to fab but they are going to sell like 5 of these tops.
