    I'm looking for -not really a cap that goes on the tailgate, but something that protects the top couple of inches of paint on the tailgate - I noticed a couple of good -size scratches up near the lip of my tailgate - a quick google search did not show much in the way of protection for 3rd generations. Anybody seen anything like this? Thanks.

    33's, Sliders, Skid Plates, Softopper, ATH rear bumper
    Get a strip of 3M clear vinyl or something similar, I did the same to protect my tailgate from getting scratched by my topper. Works great.
