I have a 23 TRD Pro in Solar Octane and I was interested in upgrading the tail lights and 3rd light. I’m very interested in the Meso x Morimoto sequential set + 3rd light and was wondering if anyone here has them or if anyone knows if they’re good/worth the price? I’m also wanting to get the led interior light kit but would like some recommendations of a high quality/reputable company to get them from. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated and I hope everyone had a happy holidays!

Morimoto and MESO are pretty good. Diode Dynamics pods and interior lights are also pretty good.

I have Form tail lights and they’re really nice. I could do without the fancy startup sequence, but it is what it is.

What is “better” about “upgraded” taillights?

I don’t think anything is physically better, I think they’re just nicer looking than the factory units. They’re probably a little brighter too.

I went with the Dual Color Meso map and dome lights and they’re a great improvement.

    The whites are incredibly bright.

I've got the Alpharex Pro Smoked Red and i've been happy with them for 2 years now.. I'm usually not one for going aftermarket in OEM locations for lights but i would recommend these or the Luxx if you wanted sequential(dont think luxx were out when i bought my PROs)

LED instead of bulbs. White LED reverse lights brighter than bulbs. Some LED setups will "flash" instead of being steady ... VLED sells a special resistor to control that behavior.

Still, not necessary unless you find backing up in the deep-dark-woods needs more light or you are tired of changing bulbs.

Personally I just wanted a little more modern looking tail lights with a sequential turn signal to match the headlights, only advantage I’d say is they’re a little brighter but mainly it’s just aesthetic!

Mine hasn’t even hit 1k miles yet, I’m just doing some due diligence before I buy so I don’t end up with an unreliable product!

Most important rule, at least for me ... drive it before you add modifications. Have a reason to upgrade instead of just spending down your retirement fund. Does not mean "DO NOT", just "have a reason".

Absolutely, I’m not interested in changing anything that would affect ride quality or reliability! I’m also not spending anything I can’t afford to spend for the aesthetic modifications I’m looking at. I just wanted to make sure I’m not buying a junk product, and figured this was the best place to ask!

Look up Vleds , that’s what I have in my factory housing. Super bright leds and switchback turn/reverse signals. White when your backing up and blinkers when in drive. I like for people to see me braking so hopefully I don’t get rear ended while they’re on the phones . :D:thumbsup:

A lot of users on here actually seek out the TRD Pro tails over many aftermarket options so you shouldn’t have any issue selling to fund whatever you choose fwiw

i believe most would agree that the OEM tail light housing in conjunction with the VLEDs LED conversion kit is the best looking and reliable way to go.

I thought about “upgrading” mine but then I would have to have my wife drive it around while I follow her in our car to realize any benefit.
