Hey guys I'm new to the forum. I just bought a 2014 Tacoma and LOVE it!! I've already done a few basic mods one of which is I painted the headlights. It was a little time consuming but overall not too difficult. I'd like to do the same to the chrome trim in the tail lights. My question is, will the lens on the tail lights detach with baking in the oven the same as the headlights did?

Pretty sure it is really hard to get the tail lights apart like the headlights.

    Hahahahaa

Thanks for the link LUSETACO. I did a search but never came across that thread. I' m on a budget so I don't want to buy new tail lights. Maybe i'll attempt using the dremel. Might end up buying new ones anyway though haha.

Is there any way to tell if the lens is pinkish or clear before cutting?

Honestly the best / easiest way is to buy them off Amazon or Ebay. You can not bake the tail light for the lens to come off. As stated earlier they must be cut off and you must be extremely careful. The tail lights off Amazon or Ebay will be fine and really aren't that expensive. I would stay away from the Ebay headlights though.

    Truck looks good btw!

Something wrong with them or just cheap?

How would I find out if theres a difference in the fit from 2012-2014 tail lights?

I would say go for the aftermarket DEPO ones, they look just like OEM only black and I would not risk baking the OEM LED tails. While your over shouldn't get hot enough, I'd still be paranoid about the solder connections on the factory LEDs becoming weak and causing the lamps to eventually fail.

Baking the tail lights does nothing. They are not held together like the headlights. You have to use a dremel cutting wheel or angle grinder to remove the lens from the housing.

These look fantastic. Since I'm doing the Stormtrooper look on my Taco I'm interested in doing these. Do they fit your 2014 exactly like stock? All the listings I'm finding for these say they only fit up to 2012. My Taco is a 2015.
