Hello all, I have a 05-15 toyota tacoma prerunner xrunner trd black led neon tube tail light set. Got them about 8 months ago. Have been great and at one point they started flickering when I am reversing. I was notified when my friend pointed it out. I don’t know how long this has been happening. IMPORTANT CONTEXT: my license plate lights on my rear bumper used to have the same issue, they have suddenly stopped flickering and are working now. I am wondering what your guys thoughts are on the cause of this? Wiring? Do I need a relay? Bad bulb? YouTube vid of problem here:

More than likely a loose connection as a result of the install process.

Link is broken but I'd say check power and ground at the light with a test light, if they are good you have a bad bulb.

I had the same tail lights (probably). Got them on carid. Mine lasted about 2 years before they started flickering and going out. Of course they have a 1 year warranty. I ended up replacing them. I’m not saying I’d do it but you can always buy them again and send the old ones back under the new warranty. At least that way you’d have a spare set.

God, I am not sure if I even have a warranty. I am hoping it is a quick fix/easy fix

Looks like the reverse lights flickering in the video, do you have it in reverse?

Odd they would both fail at the same time, you should check power and ground at the lights.

My 2017 Taco now flickers when in reverse only, both lights flicker with dim output. Marker lights not affected. Still investigating. Web search suggests an incandescent bulb can resolve the issue with more luminosity than the LED's. Still investigating though.
