Tail Light Fitment

I need to replace a tail light on my 2021 Taco. I'm pretty certain that tail lights from 2016 - current models are all interchangeable, but can anyone confirm this?

Would a 2017-2019 set fit on my 2021?

 

Yes, all taillights from 2016+ are interchangeable.

2018-2019 sport and offroad lights are considered best by most, for their lack of chrome.

 

Yes they will fit. I got a set of 17 Trd sport tails which are referred to as the black chrome to get rid of the factory 20 altezas. Looks like 100x better and fit perfect.

No tacoma has LED tail lights as far as I know. But all 2016-2021 tacoma tail lights are the same, just different lenses and the addition or reduction of chrome trim.

 

There is no LED pro tail lights, there are LED pro headlights though, they will fit, but need a adapter harness. But again, all tail lights are the same no LED.

Confirming that any 3rd gen tail light will fit the 2022 models. The online filters at McGeorge, etc are saying the TRD Pro lights (81550/81500-04230) do not fit the 2022 model. I'm assuming this is not correct. Am I right? Thanks for the help.

Dealership sites are set so they will say parts from a different trim will not fit. NEVER use a dealership part site to determine if something fits. Want proof? Pick something you know will fit that is on a different trim, like a grille, and they'll say it doesn't fit.
