Tighten the bolts on the side of the doors - it connects to the window track.

Yup! My window shook for ever! Removed the door panel, located the noise and it came from the bolts on the side of the door!! Not inside the panel. Just tightened it down and boom no more shaking

Doesn't work for me. When I tried to tighten the bolts on the edge of the door they were already tight.

I noticed that the door lock button (that sticks up through the inner sill) is loose and hits the sill when I'm off-road. One of these days I'll fix it.

I'd take off the door panel and inspect everything. If the window is the obvious culprit then it should be pretty easy to figure out. Lock components are also sources of rattles in these doors.

ahh, found a good topic thread to start from
just have this new-to-me rattle while cruising highway or other in town speeds at over 35mph with window partly down
never chattered ever before like this
i have power windows if it matters

so the only know thing i have done is to near thoroughly clean out the inner run channel with qTip and many many squirts of wd40 water resistant silicone spray and continous up and down to work it in real good.
the reason I did this cleaning was i saw a thread somewhere on how to reduce power window 'chatter' when up and down with buildup in the run channel
so I went to town as a preventative maintenance to reduce wear on the motor
and now a whole world of weird stuff initiated
    frustrated...

i HIGHLY doubt it is the bolts on the sides of the door but one never knows these days

Take it apart and look - I'll bet you figure it out. You could drive with the door panel off if you needed to.

so you did not need a new rubber run channel?
that is what i thought is causing the weird wind rattle in mine with window partway down for fresh air

I gave that bolt on the side of the door one turn and it snapped off. Can I pull the panel off, redrill, and tap? Or what next

I did this on my Tundra the other day. I got a new bolt for the door but have yet to take it's door panel off.

no rubber needed. Few things can cause window rattle, best thing is to get in there and find the source.

My guide tracks were loose inside the door causing this noise. I added some loctite to the bolts after torquing them down and the rattle is gone. Hopefully the loctite will keep it from happening again.

I also noticed one of the retaining clips for the wiring harness had popped out and the nub was broken off. Might have been me pulling the door card off that caused this, but a zip tie easily took care of that problem

perhaps this new wireless borescope i got can find a small hole to go in and search for anything loose!

i have been adjusting the opening size of the window to see if it goes away and if only happens in certain spots
the motor still sounds and feels good, much better than the power windows i checked out on a for sale tacoma a couple hundred miles away with way less miles but not as old, that one sounded sickly

Cool I think it’s that last one actually but wouldn’t know without looking at the diagram. Still trying to decide how to go about putting it back in and if I will have to drill and re tap
