Does anyone use this feature? From what I’ve read it’s only 4g, so worse than current iterations of smartphones, and costs an extra $25 a month for something that could possibly only benefit you if you don’t have AT&T and your current provider doesn’t have service but the truck does. Seems like a high price for very little benefit

I checked out the trial on my drive back home, within a few hours I had already used a gig of data and got an email notifying me that I was past the 50% mark. I doubt it's gonna be an feature I use, unless I decide the value of the hbo max subscription is worth it.

It’s not something I was planning on doing and now it almost seems like a worse idea than I originally thought, thanks

Do your homework on what they offer, unlimited can be had with the threat of not renewing

I was hoping it was satellite, but as it is it seems like a waste for me at least

If you have no service for your phone and its hotspot, it would make sense you'd have no service for your Toyota hotspot. Or am I missing something?

From what I’ve learned the hotspot is AT&T based but can be hooked up to another service provider. So if you have, let’s say Verizon you can use the hotspot via the Verizon network. If you go the default route, you can potentially have AT&T service if Verizon has nothing, that’s pretty niche and from my experience Verizon is better in most remote places. I’ve worked in Colorado, Oregon, Idaho, Washington, Utah, Arizona, New Mexico, Montana, and California and overall Verizon seems better. Don’t quote me on this though I could very well be wrong about how the hotspot works

Same way to get SiriusXM Unlimited for $6/month, they'd rather get some $$ than nothing. You gotta call them and do the dance once a year but its worth the 20 mins of my time.

I don’t use mine but would prefer to have different providers than my phone if I did. Occasionally I will setup a data plan on my iPad and I always opt for a different network than whatever my phone is on. It makes no sense to double up on the same network when having an ATT and a Verizon network connection might yield better coverage.

I use mine heavily. I use the truck to travel to projects with my team and we have had 3 laptops up and using it for 10 hr drives. The reception beats the phone and the speeds are actually solid. I thought the feature was an just thrown in and would be buggy. But it's been great. At one point we even had a few streams of Netflix going.

Thanks for reminding me to do that. I get the deal for my truck and my wife's VW Alltrack. One call for both. For anyone who has not done this the key words are "it's just too expensive." Then they can use their customer retention program to get you the service for $6. Totally worth it for me for $6 a month just for the variety. Especially 1st Wave.

I have the wife call and tell them she is not working right now and they end up doing the $6. Little do they know she has been a stay at home mom for about 15 years. lol

If you pay for a whole year in advance it's only $200 which comes out to $16.66 a month

Funny I have the trial wifi hotspot enabled for 90-day period in my 2022 TRD sport. Had the truck for almost 4 weeks now and all of a sudden the wifi hotspot doesn’t work even though it’s enabled and my phone connects to it. Friggin weird. I don’t use it at this point, obviously lol.

I like it. I'm a home inspector, and bring my computer on the road for work. $200 for a whole year of unlimited 4g isn't bad at all. It's fast enough for Adobe and Google drive. So it's clutch for me. I only see it as viable if you work on a computer in your truck like I do.
