Well over the weekend Sunday (nice empty lot) I stopped at a dealership and saw a new 2019 Tundra TRD Pro Vodoo Blue and I liked it. I liked it a lot. Anyone here by chance own drive one? How's the mpg? The craziest thing was that as I was getting into my Taco at the dealership a guy tapped on my window asking if I was going to trade in my truck. I told him I was thinking about it if I decided to purchase but hadn't made a decision. He said he would be interested in my truck for his son this month straight cash. That was strange but as my wife told me "A sign!!". Still I wanted to ask anyone if by chance they do own a Tundra and Tacoma. Only reason I'd trade/sell is because I saw that sticker price.

    Any advice? 20190602_124647.jpg 20190602_124220.jpg

Some flags and center console divider... lots of things on the wanted list.
Don't have the pro, but have a 19 sport. It's such a huge difference from the taco. I get about the same gas mileage (14-16mpg) as I did in the taco. Besides the size, my favorite part is a back window that rolls down all the way.

I've got one. I love it. It is huge though and fuel economy so far has been 13-17 MPG. The 38 gallon tank is awesome though. The pro suspension is fantastic.

    4 run, 2 don't
Keep Tacoma, buy Tundra, enjoy both.

At least that's how we do it on our other forums; 2 is 1 and 1 is none.

    I have both.

The Tacoma gets shit milage for it's size.

The Tundra gets only 2 mpg less at 80 mph.

I figure the Tundra gets pretty good mpg's when you consider it's size and power.

Did I mention power? Holy fuck does it have power.

I believe it was $53k or so.... They probably could go down 1-2k. MT I don't think so but one could try to deal for them.

Yeah I see that it has a 5.7 v8. I by chance opened up a different Tundra TRD Pro and was amazed by the space. My mpg on Taco is down now with all add-on's and tires, so I don't think it would hit me much since I see ratings are 14mpg city.

I haven't thought how much I was going to ask for. I took a look at SELL forum and see some going for 10k. For the low miles 129k and my options I'd think maybe 13-14k (who knows). I need to figure that out completely. Not sure if CarMax or some other place would be able to value it.

Try KBB and see what they say. I'd ask the high end of the private party value it gives you. That's what I've always done.

I had a tundra and loved it. I'm 100% sure you would too. I got around 14.5 mpgs but I also had 33" tires on it. That 5.7 V8 is so nice.

Do you want/need a bigger truck than you currently have? Or did you just seen something shiny?

That's a LOT of coin to spend on something just because you saw one on the lot.

For the price of a Pro, you could get an SR5, throw some resi Kings or ICONS on it and an ARB locker and still have probably $15k left in the bank for whatever else you want...

$53k for the Tundra TRD Pro? That's not far off from what the Tacoma TRD Pro was listed for at my dealer when I bought my 4Runner. The salesman said they'd straight up laugh you out of the dealer if you tried to negotiate. They had a waiting list for it.

No manual trans options for the Tundra, I don't think Tundra's have had a manual trans option since the early 2000s and only on the v6 base model.

And I thought my Tacoma was "big" coming form my 80's 4runner. Wheeling in a Tundra would be like maneuvering a battleship in a swimming pool, lol

Not to mention the gas mileage when wheeling one, it's bad enough day to day as it is. There's a guy on here with a huge Tundra on 35s and supercharged, wheels it often...can only imagine what he spends on gas every month lol.

Not that the Tacomas sip the gas, tho...

My Dad's '07 Tundra got better MPGs than my '04 Tacoma. He drives like a grandpa, and it was 100% stock, tho. He can get like 20 in his newer Sequoia.

Wheeling in a Tundra is horrible. After driving the Tacoma in the trails, the Tundra is painful. It's too wide.

I wheeled mine 1 time. Never again.

It's my camper hauler and long trip vehicle.
